contacting gp / informing dr
would I have to tell my gp before the op? she is very much our family gp and I already feel she looks down on me so would rather just keep the whole thing private. if its not necessary, will they just take my word on my medical history?

No you don't have to tell your GP hun x but if your surgeon has any concerns about your health he may ask you if he can contact your GP.

Re: contacting gp / informing dr
Hi Sally, I talked to my dr about it and she didn't like the idea and tried to talk me out of it before she even listened to me really... She was saying the normal stuff like we're all different... But I know myself I want this... I'm going with transform and they asked if I want them to contact my gp or something like that and I ticked yes because it's not the drs decision and I feel better that they know incase something were to happen, we shouldn't feel judged by our gp ... Even though I did! Xx

Yeah my GP was the same. My old one was fantastic and right behind me! The new one tried to talk me out of it, like yours Jennifer. He phoned me about a week before my surgery and said " Lisa I think your doing the wrong thing, I think you need to see someone and talk it through " now bear in mind I had been back and forth to my GP and seen a phsyciatrist regarding my boobs, all agreed I needed surgery, apart from him. so I said politely but firmly " I disagree with you, I am having surgery, I take on board what your saying, but I feel it is the best thing for me".

It is in your best interests to let your GP know, for your medical records and for your safety if you were rushed into hospital etc. You will be given a letter to give to your GP after surgery anyway x

Prior to having surgery if you are in good health you have absolutely no need whatsoever to discuss your BA with GP.
After surgery you will be given a letter detailing the surgery you had to pass on to your GP. Its this letter that should be given to your GP. But don't worry hun, you don't have to sit and chat with your GP about it. Just hand the letter in to reception so they can add it to their records. Its as simple as that lovely, so don't worry xx
