is it worth getting properly measured?
Hey
One question - Over the past few months I have lost weight and the bras I'm wearing at the moment are too big on both the back and cup. Is it worth me getting measured and getting the right sized back before BA or wait til just before for my sports bras etc.?

Well... It doesn't really matter now about the support for your boobs because you're surgeons going to sort them for you anyway. If you can pick up a cheap bra (you find loads in sales and things, some as low as £3) that fits then its more comfortable for you on the run up to your BA. But if you don't want it I wouldn't say its a matter of importance right now. But after having your BA it will be be important to keep your boobs supported in order to maintain their aesthetic appearance. Xx
Re: is it worth getting properly measured?
It is recommended you get measured every 6-12 months as lots of changes can happen. Personally I would always recommend having a correct size bra for everyday use as it gives you good support, a great silhouette in clothes and bad fits can cause shoulder pain or a bad back. If your band is too big, all the support will come from the straps so you can get shoulder or neck pain, not always but it's possible. I know it's not long until your BA but getting just 2 bras in the correct size to take you through to your BA would be enough. Fashion bras like something you're going to wear for a couple of hours, it doesn't really matter the size, as it wont be on long, but for comfort in every day use the correct size is much better for you. If you want to save money you can try ebay once you know your new size.
Re: is it worth getting properly measured?
I didn't wear a bra from the day I booked my BA lol! I had nothing to put in one and I thought I'd spend the 6 weeks run up reminding myself why I was doin it. Obviously if you do have boobs already, it is a good idea that you be comfy so as cookie says maybe buy a couple of cheap bras that you feel comfy in x

Re: is it worth getting properly measured?
Ask your surgeon Rach what your resulting size will be, then you can buy that size as well as another that will be a back size bigger, then another that will be a cup size bigger as well as some bra extenders. This then covers everything and if you leave tags on and keep receipts you can then take back the bras that don't fit in exchange for ones that do.
Alternatively, you could buy a Macom which you'll buy by your band size, the cup size will fit all, so the bra should be fine whatever size you are. Xx

Thanks cookie,
I have got another consultation booked for beginning of july to ask some other questions and possibly to take my mum along to meet surgeon ( that's if she wants to).
