2 weeks post op, a few queries
Hi guys
I'm 2 week post op today, had stitches out Tuesday and very tiny incisions with steri-strips on now! I have to take these off on Saturday and then the cuts can be left bare. When did everyone start using scar treatment, bio oil etc?
Also the nurse on Tuesday told me after 14 days I don't have to sleep sitting up, how long did everyone else leave it to start sleeping comfortably?

Hi hun x glad your healing well x my ps advised no bio oil or anything on the scars for 6 weeks, I was also advised to sleep on my back for 10 weeks, that was hard, it got easier towards the end! But all surgeons are different so all give different advice x if there is anything your unsure of, give your clinic a call hun.

Ah thanks Hun, the nurse said I must still sleep on my back till my next check up, but that will be more comfortable than been sat up!
Can't believe how fast it's all gone!
My surgeon did a great job, the incisions are tiny, very pleased :-)

Aww it's good to hear your pleased with the result hun x if you put a pillow under your bum and a rolled up towel under the lower of your back, it really helps with the sleeping x it does go so fast, you will be back to normal and in proper bras before you know it x

Bio oil shouldn't be used before you get the all clear form the surgeon at either 6 or 12 weeks depending on your healing.
The scars will still be healing at 2 weeks and even thou they may appear closed after a couple of weeks after the steri strips have been off there may still be a chance something could get in so any application of scar treatment should be avoided till a surgeons check.
At 2 weeks you can sleep on your back with av pillow for the most comfate so your head and shoulders are just above your chest just to help the swelling subside. No need for sleeping upright x

A little tip for the steri-strips babe - take them off in the shower. If you give them a good soaking first they come away so much easier than they do dry. After showering, dab the wounds dry then a hair dryer on a cool setting will just ensure they're thoroughly dry and at less risk of infection.
As the girls have said, leave your scars free from anything until you get the all clear to use anything on them from your surgeon. You're able to moisturise the rest of your boobs if you want though. They can get a little dry and itchy with the swelling, but do ensure that nothing at all gets anywhere near those incisions. Xx

Thanks cookie that's a great help.
yep the new boobies are looking dry and flakey already!
