Post by 5stonedown 27th May 2013, 8:13 pm

Just wondered how many of you managed to haggle on your surgery fees. I know that people haggle with the big clinics like transform, mya etc but has anyone managed to haggle with a BAAPS/BAPRAS surgeon or with Spire or BMI?? I didnt haggle for my BA and uplift as I was happy with the price and it was actually the lowest price I had been quoted! I am booking a tummy tuck in for January and I am going with the sam surgeon who did my boobs so firstly I hope to haggle a bit as I am an 'existing customer' but I want to get a good price as I have spent so much money already I need to save as many pennies as physically possible!! I just havent heard much about people haggling with BAAPS/BAPRAS surgeons??

I got £500 off with THG but that was for having a day case, my surgeon is not a BAAPS/BAPRAS surgeon x

I didn't try and haggle! It wasn't until a few weeks after my BA that I found out that you could haggle! If I had known sooner, I would have given it a go x

Mya quoted me £6800 for uplift and BA but I paid £5832 with Mrs Kat but she is BAAPS/BAPRAS surgeon and works for spire and BMI and when you get a price its broken down into 2 bits.. a surgeons fee and a hospital fee and I havent heard much about people getting this fee lowered?

Hey 5sd, im sure ive seen cookie somewhere say that you cant haggle with BAAPS surgeons, but maybe because youve so recently had a BA with ms Kat, you might be able to get a little off? Not sure :) xx

You can haggle between the large commercial clinics. They very much run a 'business' and compete fiercely against one another.

Clinics such Spire, MyBreast, BMI and private surgeons (BAAPS/BAPRAS) won't haggle lovely.

If a surgeons worth paying for though no matter what the cost, I wouldn't personally give a toss about not being able to haggle if this weren't an option. X

My surgeon is BAAPS/BAPRAS .. I didn't try to haggle but i don't think the clinic would have reduced the price anyway. like the others say.. if you don't ask you don't get.. but i wouldn't get my hopes up :)

You could try, but I very much doubt you would be able to haggle with the BAPRAS/BAAPS surgeons as you are paying for a very highly qualified surgeon, which is why they are that much more expensive.

I totally agree... it wont make a difference to me what the price is I will pay it anyway to have Mrs Kat do the surgery but God loves a trier and obviously if you can get a lower price then its better. I will still ask as I am a previous patient but I wont keep my hopes up!

Lol...of course! Good luck babe. I'm sure I read elsewhere on the forum that you had some kind of 'loyalty' thing, so maybe if this in place with Mrs Kat, the price of any subsequent procedures would be reduced. Xx

Hey,

Aftr my consult last week I saw a girl in customer services at the nuffield stoke, and was quoted a price of £ 4, 425 but I did say I had had a quote from a clinic in manchester for £3, 800 so she emailed the finance director (while I was there)
The next day I got a call from customer services to say they can do a price of £4, 077.00 a saving of £ 348!!!!!! Also to add my surgeon is BAAAPS and BAPRAsS member :) so it can be done.

The saying goes if you don't ask you don't get!!!!!
