Re: First consultation booked - any advice please
Hey bex, i cant help on your surgeon, have you tried typing his name in the search bar?
Im sure someone will be able to help you out, but just wanted to point out to you, if you look to the right >> where it says 'im new where do i begin' and then click the first 'click me' theres a great consultation guide that i took to all of my meetings with the surgons and has all the questions you should ask!! Good luck xx

Thats really normal dont worry! As soon as you know that its going to happen it gets really exciting and you just want to book and have boobs!
I saw four surgeons, the surgeon i choose was the first one i saw and in my gut i knew he would be the one i wanted, but at the same time, its so important to know you 100% doing the right thing, i wanted to see a few others so i knew i was confident :) xx

Do you mind me asking who you saw? And what implants you had? might see if I can see another surgeon on Friday too instead of having lots of separate visits to London.. It's all so confusing until you really understand.. Xx

Re: First consultation booked - any advice please
Course not! Im not having my BA until the 8th of september so still over 3 months to go but decided to wait until im back from my holiday!
I saw Mr meleagros (my surgeon, transform) Mr chantarasak (transform) Mr payne(the hospital group) and someone from HMG but that was last year and i cant remember his name.
Im having 410s over the muscle :)
It can be really confusing with all the diffrent implants, placements etc BUT i promise, when you have your first consult, it will all become so much clearer and after youve had two or three, you will understand so much more.
This time next week, im sure your feel much better and not so confused! its a lot to take in... seeing two surgeons on friday is a great idea to get different opinions to see if they match :) xx

Re: First consultation booked - any advice please
Hope you enjoy your first consultation Bex
You're wise in not just see the one surgeon lovely and its so important to know that when you go these clinics especially the larger commercial ones, its not like going to see your GP about healthcare, this is a 'business' and as such is treated like one from the moment you walk in the door!
Are you actually seeing the surgeon allocated to you first? Generally you're given a patient care-co-ordinator for your first consultation, if you can call it that when you go to a large clinic.
Patient care co-ordinators are saleswomen. They're employed to sell you a product. They're ALWAYS very nice and will make you feel really special. But please.... Take anything these women tell you with a pinch of salt and NEVER listen to any surgical advise from them, they simply aren't qualified to be doing so. Only ever take advise regarding surgery plans from a surgeon - the 'expert' you're employing to do your surgery.
If you've seen one already then ignore the above but please take on board that they are there to sell and really will put the hard sell on you with offers, or deals that are only open for a limited period of time, so book now to get the offer. Its rubbish hun. That price they offer you will ALWAYS be there.
If you're unsure whether you're seeing one then I'd personally advise you call and check. If you find you are seeing the PCC then maybe say something like you only have time for one visit, so you'd like to see the surgeon. You're not missing ANYTHING in bypassing the PCC except hard sell babe, so if you are only seeing the surgeon that's great.
With the larger commercial clinics I'd strongly advise you research the surgeons qualifications. You can do this through the GMC register. They must be on a specialist register for plastic surgery, so do check they are. The highest qualification they can have is FRCS, so if they have this, you know you're getting a pretty good surgeon.
Of the surgeons you visit I'd also advise you see at least one BAAPS member. There's generally a fee to see a member which is anything from £25 with MyBreast, to £150 with Spire, private surgeons could possibly be more, but if money is tight, £25 is little to pay to see a BAAPS surgeon at MyBreast hun. The consultations are generally more intimate with the surgeon and they follow guidelines through the membership to ensure you get a full and thorough consultation.
You can find BAAPS surgeons HERE. Just click on the area where you live and then if you click on the surgeons names it will tell you where the surgeon works.
Research really is the key to a successful result hun. Its a little homework for you, but a lot les worry for the future.
Hope all goes well sweetness and there's anything we can do to help - just ask x

Re: First consultation booked - any advice please
Hey, congrats on first consultation, I've had one consultation with a surgeon ( recommended by a friendwho had hers done by him). I felt comfortable at the consult even though he was running 20 mins late!!!!!! I haven't been to any other consultations. Have booked my op for 14 October this year so I can save some money towards it.

Take some pics of boobs you like hun! The surgeon usually prefers that instead of just saying I want a D cup! As everyone's perception of cup size is different so what he sees as a D you might not. So if you go in with a look idea rather than a cup size idea it gives them something to work with x

Re: First consultation booked - any advice please
Hi Blondiebex
I have had my consultation with Garrick and Harley St surgery to mine was in Chelmsford :) I'm booked in for my BA in July and can't wait I'm so excited.
Garrick is lovely, he's not about sales etc he listens to what you ask for and gives an honest opinion. I took an a4 page of questions with me but didn't need to ask any of them as he was so thorough!
Would recommend that you wear a vest top to your appointment (white is good) as he will try sizes with you and it's easier when eating a light coloured vest top.
I was really nervous before my appointment as only my fella had ever seen my boobs but Garrick put me at ease.
Enjoy your appointment! Don't forget to let us know how you got on x

Re: First consultation booked - any advice please
I'm booked in for the 9th. They offered me the 10th June but I have too much on :(. I'm wearing a 32a at the mo but since having my second baby I barely fill that!
I decided on 295cc over low profile conicals but I'm now thinking about going bigger lol I'm gonna book in again and go through sizing I think, I want to be a large C or D cup ideally. There is a lot online about Garrick and I'm yet to find anything bad. Have you checked out his website? It has his before and after pics on it.
I have kept this from my oldest son (5) as he would tell everyone lol not sure what I'm going to say when it comes to having the op and recovery :-/ lol

Re: First consultation booked - any advice please
I told all of mine, 2 girls aged 17,16. Then 5 boys 14,13,11,7 and 2. It was my eldest that stayed at home and looked after me. The teenage boys didn't really know what to say, the 14 yr old made me promise not to tell anyone he knew lol! The others just laughed about it. I just told the 2 yr old that mummy's boobies were ouchy, he seemed to understand enough to not climb on me or touch the boobage. A lot of ladies tell their kids that they have hurt their back or pulled a muscle.

Re: First consultation booked - any advice please
Hurt back could work with mine lol..
That's just like me, my 32a is too big for me now after my second baby. I've never been big (34b) but for as long as I can remember I wanted to be a full C cup..
And it's either got to be July or November as hubby is away inbetween and now I've got my mind set on going for it I need to do it as soon as possible..
My 5 year old always says "how come nanna has massive boobies and you haven't?" So not quite sure what I'll say when he sees them haha x
