Im just a tiny bit anxious about this as im not a great sleeper, ill probs be knocked out still from the GA and im planning on taking lots of mags etc incase i cant sleep, but just wondered if you know any of you didnt sleep well and how you felt, did you stay up and read or what? :)
So yer, experiences please! :)

Re: over nighters!
I'm not a good sleeper at the best of times hun, so I took my Ipad and used the personal hotspot from my phone to use as Internet connection. It was hubby who used the net though lol.
I couldn't focus on anything for very long, so mags are fab, 'cos being able to browse through pics and read little clippets of gossip was just about as far as I wanted to go.
Games on my phone helped too, so if you have a smart phone you can also download apps that you think will entertain you.
I don't know if you have sky TV but if you do you can add a sky app and this links to your account so you can watch on your phone or your ipad if you link to an Internet connection anything at all that you're subscribed to, so if you have sky movies in your package, you'll be able to watch any movie you want on demand.
Hopefully though you will be really drowsy and sleep mostly through the night anyway though. Xx

Good ideas cookie, the sky app is a good idea! So are they not fussy about keeping lamps on etc through the night? xx

No they don't mind hun, you will be in your own room! I didn't sleep very well, was up every hour, needing a wee lol!! The nurses were lovely and would pop in asking if I wanted anything to eat or drink or to check my obs! My hospital had free wifi, also had sky tv so I didn't get bored! Xx

I had my ipad with sky go my phone with games on (Candy Crush!) As you are in a room on your own you can keep the lights on all night if wanted! But I was sleepy from the GA but I was up at 5am! You'll be fine hun. x

Re: over nighters!
I forgot to buy magazines when I went in. But I was so drowsy from the GA I kept falling in and out of sleep throughout the whole night and went on here :-) its strange once I had the GA the time went really quickly and before I knew it, it was time to go home. I kept looking at my phone and I was like wow can't believe the time! Xx

Re: over nighters!
You will be out of it after the GA, probably too out of it to concentrate on hardly anything. I didn't have the best sleep, the nurses keep coming in all the time to check on you and do your pulse etc so even if you do drop off, you'll be woken up lol. They woke me up at 5.30 then for breakfast so I was knackered and very grateful for my own bed the next night!

Re: over nighters!
Sky app is a fab idea ;) I took my iPad and magazines which I flicked through while waiting. I was quite drowsy after my GA, I don't usually sleep well when I'm not at home but I had drugs that made me even more drowsy, lol. Before I knew it it was home time! xx

Re: over nighters!
I'm in hospital now and tbh it's quite noisy, but I'm too wired to sleep, there's a huge gap in the door even when shut so maybe take ear plugs? So u can hear trolleys snd bleeping etc xx Also quite bright as there is a street lamp right outside my window so maybe a mask? Tbh I'm exhausted and will prob sleep through all this but am too happy and elated to sleep right now xxxx

Re: over nighters!
I don't sleep well either. I took magazines and a book, but couldn't really focus and concentrate. I had free Wifi and took my laptop. I have Love film and Netflix so put some films on. I didn't really watch them, but it was good to have something going on in the background! Watched some stuff on 4od and bbc iplayer too, good to have some trashy tv! Millionaire Matchmaker! that kind of thing!!!
