Nagor v Allergan Natrelle - opinions? Empty Nagor v Allergan Natrelle - opinions?

Post by Selena8683 15th May 2013, 7:18 pm

So after my sizing appointment I'm almost 100% sure that I'll be going for Nagor Impleo HP 390cc. It does seem that most ladies on this forum have gone for Allergan so just wondering why really? Surgeon's choice or personal preference. Do most surgeons use Allergan rather than Nagor? Are Allergan 'better' than Nagor?

Just wondering.........xxx

I wasn't offered nagor with THG. My choices were allergan cui or allergan natrelle. Ive gone for the natrelle as they felt much better quality, very thick shell xx

Allergan are American, Nagor are British. The Allergan soft touch and the Nagor impleo are the same type of implant and of the same quality. Both have the lifetime guarantee. I think you would be happy with either.

The large commercial clinics will mostly use Allergan. They buy the standard implants in bulk to save money and buy the premiums in on demand, so due to the majority of women using the larger clinics you'll probably find that most will have Allergan implants.

Its mostly private surgeons that use Nagor - the majority of BAAPS/BAPRAS surgeons, although some will use Allergan too.

Both implants are of a premium range and neither is of a better quality than the other... However having felt both I'd say I have a preference for the Nagor. I just preferred the feel of them. X

xlaurenx - I'm a 32b at the moment, I'm almost set on the Nagor Impleo HP 390cc, however I have asked the surgeon to order Allergan Natrelle TRF 400cc as well. Not really sure what I'm hoping for as I know everyone comes out different as far as cup size is concerned, but a nice DD would make me happy :-) Do they feel soft? xx

I was a 34B pre op and now in a 34E bra but its starting to get a little loose so i tried my 34DD bra back on as this is what i was in at first and its too small so im inbetween a DD and E which is strange i need to go and get measured again but somewere else as i had only been in debenhams. They are starting to soften up nicely i still have a long way to go as stil early post op but im really happy with them. You will deff come out a nice size with either 390cc or the 400's. xxx

I had the very same options as you. My surgeon is a NHS surgeon/ BAAPS etc and he offered both although he said on the NHS he prefers to use the allergen. He told me they were both good implants but there is a lot more research behind the allergen and are expected to last longer. They did cost a few hundred extra but i decided to go with the advice of my surgeon. As far as i am aware the Nagor aren't FDA approved either (however, this is because they are not sold on the American market.) Allergan also offer replacement implants for CC etc and give £700 towards surgery costs if required (although this is restricted depending on reasons!)

Id speak to your surgeon and get his advice hun xx

My surgeon is a baaps/bapras/NHS consultant too and he recommended nagor, he uses them for his everyday work as well as private. I was happy to pay extra if it got me an implant of premium quality however he reassured me that there was no need. x

The allergan naturelle responsive gel implants are the 4th generation implants and are the only ones of the allergan range to be FDA approved. This means they have been implanted and studied for a period of 10 years on a vast number of patients.
Most implants will only last a period of 10 years before they should be replaced.

Products manufactured in the Cumbernauld facility are currently going
through the (FDA) process of Pre Market Approval (PMA ) which will
enable Nagor to sell Nagor breast implants into The United States. Of
course Nagor’s products are manufactured under a quality management
system in accordance with ISO and EN requirements and have CE mark
certification.
taken from here

I would also add that although the implants that are FDA approved have been studied for 10 years and have got their approval, technology moves on at a fast pace and allergan have brought out their 5th generation gummi bear style implants in the allergan naturelle soft touch gel, these are not FDA approved but they are the newest style implants which are supposed to be less likely to leak (as they have a firm gel that doesn't move even if you cut it in half) and less likely to ripple, this is because the gel doesn't move about in the implant it's filled 100% and so is less likely to wrinkle.
The Nagor impleo are also the 5th generation style implant and do the same as mentioned above.

Thanks for all that info Misf1!!!! (and thanks to the rest of you lovely lot for your input!)

I know they are both good implants, I guess it's just down to personal choice although I think my surgeon (Adrian Richards) prefers Nagor.....I know his theatre nurse prefers them for first time BA's. Good to know that the Impleo is 5th generation as well! xx

Hi I have nagor impleo 420 highs, same profile bit wider than 390cc in that range. I have overs and am astounded by how soft they r, if I run my finger down from the top of my chest over the upper pole honestly u r hard pushed to figure out where the implant starts! I can't compare them to others having only had these but they r fantastic in shape and softness. 390 will get u easily to a 32 dd or maybe e I would say! I wore a 32b or 34a/b and although have still to get my official measurement I am wearing 34e (marks n spencer) or 32e (shock absorber) sports bras x
