Flu! Now?!
It's a week until my op and I'm sick!
When I get colds and flu I'm usually sick for a long time so I know I won't be better by the 25th.
Has anyone had this problem?
Will they still go through with the surgery?
If I can't do it now I have to wait 3 months:(

Sorry to hear that hun, seeing as my pre op was end of May and not having my op till end of July, the nurse told me it was really important to let her know if I became ill with cold or flu within the month before my BA. Best to ring up and check hun. Good luck xxxxx

Re: Flu! Now?!
Hey lovely,
Try and eat loads of fruit and veg high in Vit C, chicken broth (homemade if possible) drink loads and loads of water, about 3 litres per day if you can manage it, or drink 2 litres of water and a litre of freshly squeezed orange/pinepple juice.
I would also recommend garlic, but some PS say not to eat it before your op as it could impede your healing.
Don't drink coffee or anything with caffeine in, and eat healthy foods like salads and tomatoes especially. Have a jacket potato for dinner every night of you can manage it, as they also contain Vit C.
xx

Re: Flu! Now?!
Thanks all, and thanks for the advice RoxyChick, I'm trying hard to stick to the healthy stuff. I'm taking extra Vit C supplements.
I'm not the healthiest of eaters though... Veggies...Blegh
And my boyfriend's not really letting me get lots of rest!
It's going to be a train smash if I have to wait.
I'll ring the doc tomorrow and hear what he says.
Hold thumbs for me!

Re: Flu! Now?!
Hope you feel better soon, I agree with Roxy, definitely up the healthy foods, fruit, vegetables and drink water, hopefully your body will be able to fight it off quicker if you give it the right nutrients.

Re: Flu! Now?!
I'm still the same. But my doc said I should get antibiotics and it should be fine to go ahead by Thursday. My pre-op is tomorrow so he'll make a decision then.
