What to expect at Bravissimo
Hi girls, I'm finally going to be 6 weeks post op tomorrow and am going to venture out to my nearest Bravissimo to get properly measured (something I should have done after my first ba but did it myself and think I got it wrong!!). So I've never been fitted before and have no idea what to expect.
Do I wear a bra, will they measure me or do it by look. Do I choose the bras I like first etc etc?
Any advice would be good please. X

They will not measure you, they will do it by looking. My experience was:
went in to my local bravissimo, went down stairs to their fitting area, told I had a little wait, so sat in their lovely waiting area, after a 10 min wait I was called to the desk and taken by my fitter to the cubicles, she instructed me to take off my top while she waited outside the cubile, but to leave my bra on so she could check the fit. She checked the sports bra I was wearing and told me how badly it was fitting and showed me in the mirror what she meant, I explained about my BA and I was only 4 weeks post op so she told me I could only be fitted into soft cup (no wire) bras. She asked what cup size I was wearing, at the time I was wearing a 36D sports bra, she said she's get a 34 and 32 in D and DD and went off to get them, came back with them and I put one on while she waited outside the cubicle, I opened the door and she came back in to check the fit of the 34D, she told me it was too small in cup and too big in band and showed me why in the mirror, so she went off to get others in a 32. She came back with a 32E and once she had checked the fit she thought I should try the bigger cup size, so went to get the 32F. Once I'd tried it on she was happy with the cup and band size, adjusted the straps a little and pointed out why it fitted well.
It will probably be best to just go for the fitting, but have a quick look around and see what styles you like or colours and then they will go find them and fit you into them. I didn't have that choice at the time.

They will measure you to find out your band size ( most people are usually wearing wrong sized band)they judge your cup size by eye and bring in bras for you too try so as to get a nice snug fit for your new additions ( you can be different sizes dependent on make just as in clothes sizes). Bravissamo are the best at fitting so your in good hands! Don't spend too much though as your size can change more as your boobs settle over the coming weeks. X

They dont touch you with a tape measure! if anyone comes at you with a tape measure, run away!! Oh they are great, they just asked me what size I was wearing and what colours I liked, then she went off and came back with loads of different styles etc! Then she told me to try one one on, and went from their! Fantastic ladies x

Re: What to expect at Bravissimo
Thank you gives me a good idea of what to expect. I went to marks today to try a couple on just to make sure I'm big enough for Bravissimo. Oh my god realise that some styles just don't fit me well as boobs not close enough together or the material between the wires didn't sit flat! Def going to leave it to the experts!
How have you found wearing wires straight after the 6 week period. The only place I still feel sore is under my boobs so wondering if I'll find them uncomfortable to start with. I have bought a non wired t shirt bra which I can wear if it gets too bad.

Re: What to expect at Bravissimo
I am only in wires during the day and only some days, cos I like the feeling of the security lol. But I'm having no problems at all, they make my boobs look so much better and really comfy. When I went into bravissimo a couple of weeks ago I said to the lady I wasn't sure if I was big enough to be there, and ended up being told I was a F!

Re: What to expect at Bravissimo
So I went yesterday and it was pretty much as described. Had to wait 5 minutes for a fitter to have a free slot then was taken into a cubicle and she asked to see me in my bra. I was wearing my £3 Bhs non wired t shirt bra that I had fit myself. She asked what size it was and as she thought it was a good fit went and got some more bras in that size for me to try. She did stay in the cubicle with me but asked if that was ok.
I found that the Freya Deco bras that so many of you love gaped a bit at the top no matter what size cup I tried. However the Panache Cleos fit perfectly.
So I came away with a black Cleo Juno bra in a 32dd and was told to keep the labels on and try it at home. Well by boobs are so much happier to be in wires( I've struggled with the elastic sports bras irritating my skin. But after a while I have found that the wires are digging in between my boobs. I am gutted as other than this the bra is so comfy. Has anyone else had problems like this. Don't know whether to take it back or persevere.

i think its normal for wires to be uncomfortable at first you have to kind of ease yourself back into them xx

Re: What to expect at Bravissimo
If they were uncomfortable underneath I would understand but not sure it is going to improve between my boobs. Don't k ow wether to stick it out or take back and try something else. V sad.

Re: What to expect at Bravissimo
I was thinking about going to Bravissimo to get fitted because I have heard they are so good, but I am worried that I won't be big enough!!
I think I am a C maybe a D (Dont know as I havent been measured yet) so I am not really sure, I just don't wanna go in there and the woman say "Sorry we haven't got anything that will fit you love, they are all a bit too big!!" I would be embarrassed!!

Re: What to expect at Bravissimo
I know how you feel Daisy. I wanted to check whether I'd fit in their bras before i went so had a sneeky try on in a couple of shops before my 6 weeks was up. First I got an idea by measuring myself- under bust for band size and then the fullest part to determine cup size. From that I figured I would probably be a d or dd cup and so tried some of these in other shops. They looked about right so decided I'd brave Bravissimo for a proper fit! Do you know your measurements?

Re: What to expect at Bravissimo
Looking at all your avi's I'm sure Bravissimo will have bras in your size. Don't worry.
Re: What to expect at Bravissimo
Bravissimo starts at a d cup. You look bigger than me in your Avi so am sure will be fine. I felt very small in there as lady next to me was being fitted in j cups!!
