How long...
Hi ladies, how long before I can lay flat? This upright sleeping is playing havoc with my back and I found myself sleeping on my side sitting up last night just to try and ease the ache in my lower back! I have so many pillows arranged at all different angles so there isn't anything more I can do there! Please tell me it's not longer than a week?! Thank you xx

Re: How long...
I'd ask your surgeon. I was allowed to sleep flat and on my side after my one week check but every surgeon seems to be different. Have you tried a rolled towel under your back? X

Re: How long...
Wait till have your one week check up babe so your boobs can least be assessed before starting to lay lay flat or start to turn on your side.
Its generally about a week to two weeks before you get the all clear, but sitting raised is important to help your body naturally absorb the swelling, if you don't help your body to do this babe you could put your healing back, so get them assessed first hun and then take things from there. Xx

Thanks cookie! I have been staying upright as I don't want to jeopardise the healing and i only have 2 days until my check up now so hopefully I will be able to sleep flat from then.. Fingers crossed because I'm shattered! Lol xx

Re: How long...
Don't forget to just try the few little things that help if you're not already -
Someone mentioned here (sorry can't recall who it was) that they bough heat pads from the chemist that they were able to stick to their back. I thought this was an incredible idea! So something that may be worth investing in for sure!
Alternatively, a hot water bottle rolled in a towel and placed in the small of your back.
A pillow under your knees
A pillow under each arm
These things generally do help for a more restful sleep. And don't forget when you are awake,to have a little walk around and be conscious that you may be hunched, so try and straighten your back up too. Xx
