Pre op
Just got back from my pre op which went well and now I'm even more excited haha the nurse was lovely and she said if I wanted to I could take arnica for a week before my op and week after so I might do it! Also, I asked her about a sedative an she told me just to ask when I get to the hospital an they will give me one if I need it!
Also had a nice little surprise to learn I've lost a bit of weight haha! Roll on 29th! Luckily I'm sooo busy right up to the day before so won't have time to worry too much xx

Re: Pre op
glad all went well hun!
sorry to high jack your thread- THG told me that since i had a clear medical history i wouldnt need a pre-op in person, i could just get a recent blood pressure reading from my GP to them.
i thought that a bit weird so asked to be booked in anyway- just in case!!
what happened at your pre op hun? did they fo an mrsa swab? apparently some do and some don't, and i'm thinking THG prob don't since tey don't feel the need to see me before op. has it got anything to do with that its their own private hospital so they can be sure mrsa doesnt exist there, or is my thought process completely wrong? x

Re: Pre op
If you're in good health 'some' clinics don't bother with a pre-op as they don't feel its necessary.
Asking you to go to your GP though to get a recent blood test to them is a bit cheeky though! And it seems they're saving money doing this themselves when your screening should be part of what you've paid for babe, so asking to have the pre-op was a good thing for you to do hun - cheeky buggars.
If you've been admitted into hospital within a year (I 'think', could be 6 months) then you should be asked to to do MRSA swabs to help 'avoid' the MRSA being brought to their hospital. Xx

No hun I didn't have an MRSA swab. I'm with Transform and it was literally just a 15 minute appointment with a nurse who asked me all about my medical history, took my blood pressure, measured my height and weight and took note of my BMI. Also, she gave me a couple of pre admission leaflets that describe what I can and can't do leading up to my surgery and what I can and can't do and that was about it really! I also didn't take a blood test which I know some ladies have to but I think that is all dependant on your medical history xxx

Re: Pre op
ah thanks ladies, well i do have a clear medical history and have never ever been in hospital, thats probably why they said it wouldnt be necessary.. and i already got pre op and pre admission info in the post 2 days after booking!
still glad i insisted on the pre op though, at least its also a chance to ask any more questions that pop up in my head :)
