Will I shrink?

I just posted something about being 32DD but looking like a B - and it dawned on me that I'm going to be sad if I shrink as part of the healing process!

How likely is that?? I know there's change ahead- but do I need to be prepared to go down in size as I heal? I really really don't want to as I like the handful I have now... Dropping will be great, softening will be great, movement towards cleavage will be great- please tell me I won't shrink though as for some reason I told myself in the first few weeks ill be swollen/ bigger, then they shrink!

The shrinking would be down to the swelling reducing. At 3 weeks I'd imagine the swelling has gone down already so no more shrinking. I think the next stage is dropping followed by fluffing which I think is actually where the boobies relax and get a bit bigger, at least that's what all the picture trails show x

Think Angie is right hun, at 3 weeks i would imagine your swelling has gone now anyway so only the drop and fluff to come in terms of size. There is no way you only look a B cup tho unless the B stands for Bountyful haha x

Well I'm wearing a 34DD sports bra now, and dressed they look about the same as theyd did in my 34B padded bra before my BA. naked they look mighty fine lol, but dressed not a DD definitely. Also I have a friend with a natural D cup and mine look definitely smaller. Tbh I'm quite happy that its unnoticable dressed but just wanted to say that mine look smaller than what they measure x

Duno what size mine will end up but the shape being sorted is all that i ask. Whatever size i end up is just a bonus but mine is the same in that i look like i do when wearing those x2 cup size bras but to look like that with all that bloody horrible padding is an amazing achievement =D x

You don't 'shrink' hun.

What happens is that when you start to to drop, you start to lose the upper pole fullness you first had early post-op. many women have a panic when this happens thinking their boobs have shrunk but its not true at all. What happens is the skin and muscle if you have partials are starting to relax and enabling the implant to take on its natural form which is like an anatomical shape (even though you may have rounds!) so instead of the implant filling being all up top, it distributes itself into a natural form. You don't lose any size at all and when you fluff... Its very possible you may even increase in breast size hun.

Women are also so brainwashed by the media by this glamour model DD size every big busted model or celeb seems to have that we look at our boobs in comparison to the DDs we imagine when we think of the models and think our boobs can't possibly be anywhere near the size these glamour models have because ours look so much smaller!!!!

In reality these big busted glamour models and celebs aren't this DD that seems to be every woman's wonder boob size! They're more likely G, GG, or Hs! But those sizes just don't seem to sound quite so glamorous do they...... And so our perceptions of boob size makes us feel almost inferior...even after a boob job - why don't my DDs look like the glamour models???? Its because they lie! Lol...well at least their agents do. They'll say anything if it makes the person sound more appealing and like I said, the DD seems to be what most women see, to aspire to be!

Realistically even before you had your BA you could quite possibly have been a 28C... I bet that's VERY hard to imagine if you had nothing before but how many of us have actually gone for a professional fitting pre-op? Not many I know, but its true that the majority of us with what we thought were nothing actually filled C and D cups 'before' surgery.

And the reason why is because of the 'cup volume' this changes as the band size increases

If you look at the picture below ALL of these bras are a D cup. They just have a different band size



But our brains aren't trained to see a D cup in anything other than the size we've been brainwashed to see.

So although YOU may think you look more like a B cup because this is the size you 'perceive' your boobs to be, to those of us who have been around for a while and are used to getting fitted and seeing the different sized boobs and bras.. We sweetheart KNOW you are certainly not a B cup at all, but do indeed look your DD. xxxx

Thanx hun! U will be soon ull see!! And wait till u notice them getting softer u won't be able to keep ur hands off them!! I keep squeezing mine, nice not to feel or hear sponge padding screeching loool

I keep giving them a light grope as it is haha. I know. My bras used to always creak when the padding rubbed off the underwire. Used to be so embarrassing x

cookie - thanks for the reassurance. I have seen you post the bra sizes before, but it's lovely to hear you think I look my D! I was literally flat preBA, and a B before kids, so if I'm honest, I guess I see more than that when I look down - but you're right, the concept of DD is something that is a result of media hype but likely a G in reality!

I'm very happy with my volume, just relieved I won't shrink! I'm not seeing much movement yet, but agree that I'm through the swelling this week and just need to play the waiting game.

Balamory - you're lucky you can grope at 3 days! I winced at day 10 when I started massage!

Haha oh yeah! We found Angie's boob twin she is a 40C!! x

No way is she a 40 band! She only looks about a 30 tops!! I would have put her at a 30 H.

Surreal isn't it?! She was 5"10 and a size 12-14, i took her picture in because she is near enough the same proportions as me x

She could well be any of those sizes! point is, sizes are subjective, that is why it is so important to be able to show people what we mean when we talk about boobs because that way there is no debate x x x

Has the sports bra situation been mentioned? Mine look small in clothes but the second I get this sports bra off they look much bigger. When you're back in 'normal' bras I bet you think they're fabulous!

@ Boodreams, trust me they look whaaaaay bigger in this pic than they actually are! It's the angle together with a gentle push. In a bra, standing normally, mine don't look much different from yours boodreams and defo smaller than balamory's and defo smaller than that pic. Balamory were not too different stats wise, I'm 5'9 and size 12 tho I could fit in 10 top as I had chickpeas instead of boobs lol, but overall a 10.
Well done to all you girls for being able to estimate even roughly the size of the girl on the pic, I haven't got the slightest idea, but figurewise she looks similar to me, bar the knockers as mine are still like arrows looooooooooool

Sorry, to answer your question, I could feel them softer sometimes when I was still in my dressings, but then they'd harden again and that wast by day 10, but soften definitely by day 14 and keep getting softer each day, today is softest yet x
I wasn't told to do any massages...was this recommended by ur PS? I heard talk of it with other ladies but I was never instructed to

Cant wait for mine to soften. Angie do you think my right one has dropped already? Your boobs are far bigger than mine! Nice to meet another tall girl =D hehe we really are breast buddies arent we?!

Littlemiss i think sports bras would be much more flattering if our boobs fitted and moulded into them like "normal" boobs do haha x
