That killed me for the first week, I felt like I couldn't even breathe. It's probably the swelling. The extenders are probable the best bet or you'll end up with a load of bras that are too loose round the band once the swelling goes down

Hi loclo, I am a 29" rib cage but have always worn 34 back sports bras probably wrongly! So anyway for my post op I bought a 36d which I know is way too big just now but hopefully will be comfortable after then 34d for once ribs stopped swelling. I know I am supposed to wear a smaller back but personally I have always found them so tight!!!x

I think maybe a bigger band may help until the swelling goes down a bit. I was in a 36 until about 6 weeks post op. now I am in 32/34 bras, but couldn't have comfortably worn a 34 sports bra when I was early post op.

Maybe get him to get you a few sizes and try them on and return the ones that are no good? Xx

If the 32e fits fine in the cup then going up a band size you'll need to go down to 34dd to get the same cup size volume.

I wear a 34 band and was in a 36 with bra extender for bout 10 days! Damn swelling xx

I got my extenders from Amazon for about £3! They came in a couple of days too, so if you can't find any in the shops they're definitely there :ok:

If you feel fine in the cup hun then go up a band size but come down a cup size.

A DD in 34 band will have the same breast volume in the cup as the E in the 32 hun. Xx

You can get bra extenders on eBay for 99p Hun. Remember though the pain maybe coming from the 'inside' rib pain and bruised ribs is very common x
