Does anybody know? Empty Does anybody know?

Hii, I have just started taking my arnica tablets ready for the op but my surgeon said only to take them I am taking a vitamin supplement called biotin vitamin b6 I am unsure wether to stop takin it or not does anybody know if it could affect me? Xx

hi hun,

i think i read somewhere on this forum that the general advice is to stop taking supplements a while before your surgery, but am sure it also depends on the kind, so maybe best to just give your clinic / nurse a quick call to check, just to make sure x

I'm pretty sure surgeons prefer yout stop vitamin tablets. I know arnica is fine but other vitamins are a no. Maybe call your clinic and ask? x

I was told to stop all tablets, even vitamin supplements 2 weeks before surgery! But every surgeon is different. So I would give the clinic a quick ring Huni x better to be safe than sorry xx

I was told to stop all vitamins three weeks before surgery as they thin ur blood or something like that panic maybe call ur clinic tho Hun x

Are you sure you heard right babe?

As far as I'm aware ALL vitamins should be stopped for a 2 week period on the run up to your BA babe due to the effect they may have on your recovery.

I was told to stop all vitamins but to start arnica 2 weeks before. Arnica is a homeopathic remedy not a vitamin so its a bit different but only take something on your surgeons advice.

my nurse said dont take any vitamins only arnica i was allowed. also no ibuporfen aspirin i was told

I was also told not to eat anything with garlic in it as its a natural anti coagulant (blood thinner!)
