hi everyone, in alot of pain after op plz help
Hi girls. Iv just had my surgery on friday 29th mar 13 and i got under muscle gel implants. i know its very soon after i had it but im having alot of pain with getting up in the mornings. Iv woke up crying with pain past 2 days and i cant seem to get pain killers to manage the pain. I find that getting up to walk around the house every half hour helps not to feel stiff all day but the shooting pains is horrific and unable to control! Can anyone reccommend how long i will feel like this or what to do to speed up my recovery?.. Thanks!x

Hey Hun xx
Unders can hurt more initially xx Everything you are going through sounds normal hun but if you have concerns give the emergency number you were given a call xx
Did they give you any pain killers? The only thing you can do is keep on top of your medication and REST x every day you should feel a little better xx
Hopefully one of the girls who has had unders will be along soon to advise on when it should start to ease xx

hey hun it sounds like you have morning boob which is when all the blood rushes to your boobs and makes me them painful and feel like lead weights! i'm the same as you my muscles get very stiff overnight (or even if i'm sat still too long) which then makes in painful to get going again. It is a horrible feeling but don't worry because it's nothing to worry about. Try using ice packs or a bag of frozen peas on your boobs and this will help the swelling and therefore reduce the pain xx i'm 11 days post op with unders and i still get morning boob but it's a lot less painful than it was at the beginning. I know it's hard hun but hang in there, it won't last long and it'll be worth it in the end xx

Sorry to hear your feeling so bad. , hang in there the first week is the worst pain wise once you get through that you'll be amazed at how much more you can do and how much better you'll feel, try to keep on top of your pain meds in the meantime, trust me it won't be long now before you'll be feeling tons better! I think the girls have covered it hun..... One week post-op seems to be the turning point for most women so hang in there babe.
Everything you're experiencing is absolutely normal so don't worry hun. It is going to get better hun and you're right in getting yourself up and walking around. This will help speed up your recovery too as you yourself can feel as you walk around and the swelling reduces. But then you sit and the swelling returns....as each day passes though lovely that feeling is going to get better and better.
There's generally always someone around here babe, so don't suffer in silence, we're there for you hun, even if its only to send a hug x

Stacey - I had my op the 26 th & stayed an extra night to he the pain managed. Unders.
Day 1 thy had me on 30mg codiene x4 day, and 8 paracetamol. Not enough. I literally couldn't move. Liquid morphine put me to sleep that night then I said I couldn't go home & manage that level of pain. The dr doubled my codiene to 60mg x4 day, same paracetamol. That was strong but I stayed on that for day 2,3,4.
I cut my codiene yesterday & have had none atall today.
Co-codamol is the codiene & paracetamol combined. I was going to go down to that yesterday, but managed breathing through the boob-rush (slightly milder version of morning boob!) & was really motivated to get off the codiene because it would tighten my breathing for half an hr after each dose, send my mind whirring & basically freak me out! But I needed it.
As the ladies said - manage the pain regularly for the first few days & rest. For me, day 5 I was ready to experiment with less. Before that day the thought of the pain was too scary. Mornings are painful but I spend about 15 mins wiggling my whole body (do a little dance) ever so slightly to get the blood moving before I work to sit up. I mostly need a push for that first getup too!
Totally normal. We are just the unlucky ones who really suffer days 1-5. Stick with it. Drink water water water. Wiggle. Breathe. My dr said no ice. If tomorrow is bad still I'd ask for them to review meds to get you through a couple more days. Youse be surprised at how it declines though. I felt like someone had shredded my muscles & was pouring acid on them!
Still happy I got boobs though!
I'm a couple of days ahead of you so am happy to tell you what worked for me - you will find your own way too. X

Morning boob is horrible.. I had it after my first op... thankfully I havent had it this time. I found it agony when I got up in the mornings and I was nearly in tears for the first few seconds as I felt that rush of blood. It does get easier and one day you will get up and realise that you had no pain! I am suffering with a lot of pain after my revision... not morning boob but incision pain so I can sympathise with you feeling low especially when you can see others coping so well but I am trying to think positive and each day will bring you closer to the point where you will be able to enjoy your new boobies pain free xx

I am much better now... buddha belly going down, I managed a 3 mile walk yesterday which made me feel amazing and I have managed to wash and dry and straighten my hair and shave my legs and armpits today so I feel a million times more 'me'! Just gonna put some makeup on and go for another walk!

Re: hi everyone, in alot of pain after op plz help
That's a fantastic turnaround 5sd! Good for you! I have walked around my big garden for about 20 mins, not quite the same. I just hate the cold & without the ability to jump up & down, it actually makes me tense up more! A day at a time though..
Nikkinoo- I have the burning too, but it passes in about 10 mins. Psychologically it helps to tell yourself it's 'healing happening' - which I believe it is. Any blood supply there is a good thing -- I suspect it's a good sign & that really helps me cope! Words & thoughts are pretty powerful:)

Went for a walk around town and had a wander around the shops today instead as its really windy so I didnt want to brave the elements. I have also driven my car now too. I must admit I am in a bit of pain now so I need a rest now in case I am overdoing it! Cant wait to go for my dressings to be removed tomorrow morning!
