Hello ladies

As some of you may know my op is quite a way off but I am constantly thinking about it nonetheless!

One thing that's concerning me is the anaesthetic. I have M.E. and so get very tired & weak anyway but after a minor op last year I was asleep for the best part of three days.. I'm really hoping it was a case of the doctor giving me too much ga on that occasion as it was horrible not feeling alert for that long.

I know it's a long shot but is there anyone else on here who has M.E.? I'd be interested to know how their BA went/what recovery was like.

Hi cupcake, I have m.e. too. wavey Rubbish isn't it!

I had my BA about 2 and a half years ago now, and I can honestly say I don't think my recovery was any worse than anyone else's, I was sore but it was totally manageable, and it didn't set off my illness in any way.

However I had an operation this time last year and my recovery from that one was awfull, I could hardly get out of bed for literally weeks.

So I don't know, maybe the ba was fine because I went in to it healthy, rather than having to have an operation for a reason, like the other one.
Anything else you want to know just ask. x

Hi mrsm! Thanks for replying. Yes it is pretty pants really!

Hopefully I will have some luck like you did then and won't be "flaring up" at the time of the op.

Good to hear you coped well, as I'm worried about how I will react to the whole thing in general really, given that most m.e'. Sufferers have crap immune systems.

I guess only time will tell but thank you for replying- there is hope haha! Xx

I don't have M.E but I do have an auto-immune disorder and a really low immune system hun. I was just fine.

If you've previously suffered problems with GA in the past then discuss this with your anaestetist hun. They have all kinds of tricks up their sleeves to make for a better recovery and they'll do what they can to ensure you're as comfortable as possible post-op babe. Xx

Ahh thank you cookie, I will do. Yeah this is quite funny looking back on it, but at the time it was worrying- after my last G.A. I was cross-eyed for about 3 days, could hardly stay awake or string a sentence together so really hoping its not like that again.. Also need to remember to tell them not to give me codeine- BLEURGH! Glad to hear you we're okay cookie xx
