chickpox :(
Hi lovelies.
So I just been emailed poss April dates, including 8th April, which I really want to book... However...
My son has just come down with chickenpox. My daughter is showing no signs as of yet, but it is a 2 week inc period.
So the question is, do you think my surgeon would advice against the 8th with the chicken pox virus being in the house?
Ps I have had pox but there's always the risk of shingles...

Re: chickpox :(
Maybe give your clinic a call and explain the situation. They might suggest that you get a blood test so they can check if your carrying the virus. If your clear I'm sure you can go ahead with your op x

Re: chickpox :(
It is possible to get chicken pox from someone with Shingles but it is not possible to get shingles from someone with chickenpox. So seeing as you have already had chicken pox your body will have an immunity to it. It will lie dormant in some peoples body until it reawakens for reasons unknown as shingles. I would contact your clinic but dont see why your op can't go ahead.
Re: chickpox :(
Ah thanks you ladies. And misf1 bang on... My husband came home and told me the exact same info. So not to worry about shingles.
I was still mention it to my surgeon on wed tho x
