Paracetamol Empty Paracetamol

Post by Daisydee 17th March 2013, 5:44 pm

I have seen a lot of people on here saying about only taking Paracetamol for headaches before BA obviously a lot of tables like Anadin contain asprin and other things too, so I know I should avoid these but how long before and after the op should I avoid them?
Not that I take Anadin daily or anything..... But I suppose I just wanna be aware in case I get struck down by a big headache in the next few days!

Yeah definatly NO aspirin!! It thins the blood. Take only paracetamol. I have heard of ladies surgery being postponed because they have taken an ibuprofen the week before xx

I was informed NO medicines other than those prescribed for you and cleared by your anaestetist for two weeks prior to having surgery.

You can read all of the pre-surgery instructions I was given [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

None of us should be taking any medication whatsoever on the run up to your BA unless you've been given the all clear to take them by your surgeon so as not to compromise your surgery in any way at all. X

Yes I was informed no medicine too unless cleared by my clinical nurse - I had a migraine 3 days before so text her to see if I could take my migraine tablets and she said that was fine.

Best advice is don't take anything 2 weeks before and if you feel you need something speak to your nurse to get it cleared xx
