Re: being a car passenger
The turning point for most of us after surgery is around a week post-op, but some do take a little longer.
There are women here who have travelled long distances in the car the day after the op and been just fine with the help if a cushion so as not to let the seat belt put any pressure on your new boobs.
So I'd say after about a week, you should be OK babe, but don't take that as gospel, as I've said many times, we all heal at different rates and if the journey is for that early post-op and is for something you'd have to commit to then I'd suggest you either decline the journey or let them know you may not make it. Xx

Re: being a car passenger
I was driven over two hours home the day after my BA, I was fine as I had a pillow and pain killers. I was ok after a week but needed a pillow for the seatbelt as they just dug in, I don't know whether it's cause I am short but it took a while before a seatbelt didn't irritate me.
Re: being a car passenger
make sure u sit in the back just in case, an airbag to the boob is gonna be a nightmare worst case scenario :) x

newboobz, good luck, 5 days, how exciting.
Did you ladies who have had your op sit in the back on the way home from the op? I hadn't even thought about that until I saw littlewellies post. :)

Hi.
I decided not to travel to get my boobies done, Ive opted for my own city as the thought od travelling back the next day terrified me! So as long as my consultation goes well, I will be having it local which i couldnt be happier about.
Im more worried about my doggie, hes over 8 stone and i walk him mostly but my partner understands he will need to do it whilst im healing. I cant even imagine how awful it would be to have him tug suddenly whilst im still tender :S
All the best.
