Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
I just rang up my clinic, my next consultation is on 18 March whereby i was hoping to pay and book a date for the first week of April. I just rang up to double check what dates Mr Hardy does surgery and she said he's booked the 1st two weeks of April off to spend time with his kids the reason i'm worried is because i'm a student nurse and these were the only dates i could do whereby i would have a week off to recover and then be in uni so wouldn't be doing any heavy lifting etc until after the 6 week mark. What do i do? the only other thing i could maybe do would be to book for 25 March, but if i did that would i be okay to go and watch my Derren Brown show on 29 March? x
Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
Just thought of another thing. I can't really do it on 25 March cos only my husband knows i'm having it done and he's in work and doesn't have any holidays left =[ oh God what the hell to do?! x
Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
Well sweetie, if you. NEED the dates your hubby has booked then Mr Hardy simply isn't going to be an option hun.
You're going to have to go for more consultations and find another surgeon who you feel is best suited to yourself hun. X

Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
I know, it just seems to much to organise anything else at such short notice =[ and Mr Hardy really was "the one" for me ='[ oh i just don't know x
Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
Postpone the BA until a later date if this is the surgeon you want x

Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
That's the thing, i can't do a later date really because of being a student nurse =[ April was perfect because it gave me 2 weeks off to recover and 8 weeks before i started back on placement and manual handling etc x
Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
what about taking someone else with you if hubbys not available or having the op later that week before surgeon goes on hols? might mean u miss derren brown but it depends on if you're happy to compromise to fit it in. i hope u find a solution hun, you've obv got your heart set on him xx

Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
I haven't told anyone other than my husband that i'm getting it done and i have no friends that i could tell that can drive =[ trust me to be in this mess so soon =[ x
Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
I'm sorry to hear that hun. Could you maybe postpone until Christmas time? I know it's a long wait but it really does fly by.
Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
Couldn't do that Misf1 cos i would only have 2 weeks off to recover then back to manual handling and lifting etc =\ this was the perfect time to do it you see x
Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
awww hun i understand how awkward it can be sometimes trying to organize everything when time schedules are so strict. If Mr Hardy was 'the one' then i'd definitely see if you can get that march date, maybe if your husband speaks oh so sweetly to his boss and explains that you're having an op (Doesn't have to say what) he could get the day off and do some overtime to balance it out or take it unpaid? Or you could always go alone, he'll be able to drop you off in the morning and visit you again in the evening? Just a thought hun but you don't want to comprimise your healing by having it at a later date when you rush back in to heavy lifting. maybe speak to someone at your hospital? There are quite a few nurses/midwives on here who get signed off on light duties for the first few weeks? I really hope you can sort it out hun xx

Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
I'm a nurse and have just over two week off from work. I won't be able to lift for another 4 weeks once I'm back. No probs just get a sick certificate, explaining you can't undertake manual handling for 6 weeks.
Your surgeon will do you one if you ask. They don't have to put what you have done on the sick cert, just make sure you explain to your manager on the your placement.

Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
Aww thanks ladies =] i'll just have to wait and see what happens...maybe this is a sign that it just isn't meant to be will see how this consultation goes. Kxx who did you want originally and who did you go with in the end? x
Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
I know how you feel hun I'm also a student and am having mine at the end of march so I have two weeks off for Easter to recover. If your surgeon is the one and this is the best time maybe you should try and book the date in march?xx

Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
Think that will be my only option providing that he does a theatre then =\ and duno what i would do about getting there and back but will have to see. The highs and lows of student life, eh? x
Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
You could always use the transport hun? I'm going with the hospital group and transport to and from the hospital in Birmingham is included in the price of my surgery xxx

Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
I've never asked about transport with my clinic hun but doubt it would be something they provide because it's only a small clinic =\ i will check tho =] wonder if i would still be okay to watch Derren Brown at 4 days post op? I know 3rd day is generally the worst but would it be much different from sitting at home watching the tv? x
Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
Just call them and ask you never know! Everyone recovers differently babe I know people who are fine and are shopping the next day after there op but then others are bed bound for a week after xxx

Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
I went to a west life concert 3 says after having cyst removal on my lower back .... Not a good move! I could barely walk at the end and I definitely put back my healing. But I was jumping & singing lol! If you can take it realllyyyyy carefully then you might be ok? But everyone heals differently its hard to say

Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
I'm hoping for the sake of a 2hour show i'll be fine and just get on with it. I like to kid myself into thinking that i have quite a high pain threshold anyway tho this will probably prove to be not true haha. Did you enjoy your concert? I wouldn't trust myself at a concert...i went to watch The Killers not long back and ended up breaking up a fight...trust me x
Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
Haha it was great! It might do u good they say the worst u can do is lie in bed for a week straight.

Re: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =[
That's true, might all be irrelevant anyway if they don't have any space left for that date x
