Nipple sensation. Will it ever return?
Hello ladies, it's been a while for me on here I'm afraid...
Had my BA 8 months ago. So far so good with everything, however I still have no nipple sensation. I was hoping things would start feeling normal by about the 6 month stage, but as yet they still feel exactly the same i.e numb. The whole breast (well both of them!) feel uncomfortable whilst being intimate with the fella, as though the scar capsule causes the discomfort. I have a 12 year old scar on my arm, which feels the same i.e numb but at the same time uncomfortable if I rub it hard.
Has anyone else had this issue and for this long? Or has anyone lost the sensation & never re-gained it?

Re: Nipple sensation. Will it ever return?
Hi,
I'm afraid I can't be much help, as I'm only 5 months po. However I too do not like them being touched, as it feels uncomfortable.
I was hoping that, like my section scar the feeling will return to normal eventually.
Would be interested to hear what the other ladies say.

I didn't get normal sensation back until 1 year post op after my 1st BA. After my 2nd BA, they went back straight away. So there's chance for yours to go back to normal x

Re: Nipple sensation. Will it ever return?
One of mine took almost a year for sensation to come back after my second op. I haven't got full sensation its never going to come back now, 3 years on - I can't feel light touch but I can feel a hard pinch and it does react to temperature so I count myself lucky.
It can take up to 2 years for full sensation to return. Its normally within a year, but for few women it can take even longer, so you still have a good chance of it returning yet babe. Xx

Re: Nipple sensation. Will it ever return?
Thanks, it makes me feel better to know it ought to come back, eventually! The only reason I've become a little despondent about it is because the sensation I have now (the numbness & discomfort) has been the same for many months & doesn't seem (at the moment) like it will ever change. Don't get me wrong, I have no regrets about having my BA, I despised what I looked like before but to regain sensation would be nice! Xx

I have the same problem my boobs are completely dead from scar to nipples I have the slightest sensation in nipples which makes them super sensitive to touch so my poor OH cant go anywhere near them, I'm hoping ill get used to it but it does make me pretty miserable tbh xx

Re: Nipple sensation. Will it ever return?
I am almost a year and a half post-op and I am completely numb from my nipple down. No sensation except when I feel completely soar from hubby trying to touch them, which I can't take anymore. I do miss that:(
I use to have extreme sensation in my nipple area. I have given up hope that it will ever return....
