bra sizing
was having a peek on boux avenue and came across their way for measuring your underband. I know it's best to get fitted into bras rather than tape measures but thought but I've never seen this way of measuring before. they say to measure your band in cm's.
63 - 67cm = 30
68 - 72 = 32
73 - 77 = 34
78 - 82 = 36
83 - 87 = 38
88 - 92 = 40
I'm pretty sure this is the 'old' way though as I measured 76cm which in inches is 30 but this puts me in the 34 band column. Its just SO confusing knowing which stores measure which ways, tried on some 32 bands in primark and they were soooooooooooooo tight :(

Re: bra sizing
This is the European measuring guide. 75cm is a 34 band again they don't understand so are just guessing. Their bras are probably made in Europe and they just have British tags put on a certain amount of them. I think the 1st time I put a 32 band on it felt tight, but then I was used to a loose 34. As long as it's just fitting snugly and most of the support is in the band, it is probably fine. If it cuts in then it is too tight. You can be a different size in every shop. I would say without being rude to primark that some of their bras are pretty, but I'd wear them as fashion bras, just for a night out or night in, but I wouldn't have them as a bra you'd wear often.
Re: bra sizing
Sorry should have said the European still use the old fashioned way, but they cut their bras smaller. This is what I've found while buying bras abroad for stock. You could probably get away with a 32 or 34 in European bras that's a 70 or 75. Then again it's not the same everywhere.
Re: bra sizing
haha all my bras are primark, I only wear them for padding though I don't actually need the support so why pay lots of money :P Can't wait to be able to go to boux avenue, bravissimo, Debenhams etc and buy pretty, expensive bras hehe. xx

Re: bra sizing
at 6 weeks, I got fitted at Boux Ave, La Senza and Debenhams. La Senza and Debenhams said 32DD and Boux Avenue said 34DD/34E so 1-2 cups sizes bigger than the other 2. So yeh I think their bras come up a bit smaller than other places xx
I used to only shop in Primark for bras too - 34a triple padded bra for a fiver or something like that. Wasnt bothered about support either, just wanted the bra with the most padding lol but totally different now x

Re: bra sizing
I do think for a bloke Theo Paphitis has a good store in Boux Avenue (not that a bloke shouldn't do well). You'll find that some stores cut smaller that others so you'll be a 32 in one and 34 in another. La senza was terrible for that too. Wish they'd all do the same.
In the EU you have to subtract 10cm from your band cm measurement to get your band size because they measure the unstretched band, (in the UK they measure the band when it's fully stretched, so a 32 is 32 inches fully stretched). I still find that after conversion the bands come up a bit smaller though?
I've also found out if you are quite skinny (not so much flesh on ribs) or are fleshy over your ribs it can be uncomfortable to wear the bra size you measure ie around your ribs you measure 29.5 - 31.5 inches making you a 32 band, but this digs into your ribs or your flesh so you need to wear a 34.
God I'm sad think I've swallowed a bra enciclopedia.

Re: bra sizing
haha yeah I know some girls measure for a 32 but prefer a 34. I'm just under 7 weeks to go so I'm not too fussed now. My lovely collection on primark bra's are doing their job for now so i'll wait until post op to go get professionally fitted, and I'll make sure I go to a few different stores too. Excited !

haha to be honest I was on cloud 9 when I came out of there with my 34dd/34e boobs lol and the whole fitting in general was a really good experience inthere. It's the fanciest bra shop I've ever been into (not that I've been in many!) like a boutique or something and they made me feel very special in my own little room rather than a cubicle and gave me a little card at the end with my bra size on it and the style of bras that suited me best. I'm so easily pleased! xx
