I was told this today which goes against everything I've read on here.

Who told you? And what was their reasoning. I am in bra 24/7 for 8 weeks. Tbh with you I wore a bra at night after my previous BA as I was very uncomfortable with out. 2 weeks seems awfully early was that from your surgeon

It was the nurse! I won't be doing it, it just doesn't sound right. She seemed very rushed with me even tho there was no one else in the waiting room and I just had a nightmare morning getting to her. Not impressed really

Can you check with your surgeon? There maybe a reason behind it

Re: Bra off at night after 2 weeks
Some women for whatever reason their surgeon feels might be requested to sleep braless after a specified period of time lovely. When you're standing and upright this is when you need the most support for your boobs, releasing them from the support at night just allows for the skin/muscle to be able to relax just that little bit more for YOU.

If you don't have his email address, you could call your clinic and request it? If they aren't willing to pass it on you could request they email on your behalf if you wanted to hun. Xx

Re: Bra off at night after 2 weeks
I was told by nurse I could sleep bra less at 2 wks when I asked why she said it was to get 'air' to my scars to help them heal as in a bra 24/7 they can sweat and in bed at night so it's best to get air to them to help them to heal, I did one night in bra one night without bra and mine have healed lovely....saw mr m last week and he was happy!! Hope that helps xxx

Your first post-op check is 'generally' around 7-10 days post-op. your second is generally around 6 weeks post-op, your third, depending on the clinic, between 3-6 months. Some clinics sign you off then, others give you the last check up at a year post-op
If you have further questions hun, it would be best to create your own thread because you'll get a better response that way. X
Re: Bra off at night after 2 weeks
i was told at my last check up which was around 8 weeks i could treat my new boobs as normal boobs, but i cant get comfortable at night with no bra on but the last 3 nights i havent slept in one and see a huge diff in my boobs in softness etc

Hiya! If you're having Mr M and you live in Swindon you're probably Reading clinic? Like me. I had one at 12 days (which was brought forward to 10 because dressings came loose) then one at 6 weeks. The the first time I will see Mr M after surgery will be 12 weeks. I hope to be signed off then but it could be that they book another for a year. The nurse at Reading is waaaaaaay more strict that Mr M's nurses at other clinics... Can't work out if that's a good thing or not :) xxx

Re: Bra off at night after 2 weeks
Tinkerbell - I am dreading sleeping in a bra! It sounds like things are moving in the right direction with you though, so following doctors orders is the best medicine:)
How long did you sleep propped up?? Is it just in hosp? AND, as I am a tummy sleeper, I don't know how I'm going to handle sleeping on my back when I am allowed anyway! Please shed some light on this as you are now an expert.
