Anyone had unders and gone back to the gym once they've settled? I try to go 2/3 times a week at the mo. Was told at consultation that I def would not be able to go for at least 6 weeks not even lower body workouts as I'm having unders which is understandable and was also told if I was a fitness instructor I should have overs. I was initially thinking of doing an FI course but think I'll put that on hold although my cousin is a zumba instructor and had unders years ago!

The reason overs are suggested for those with high fitness levels is because of the possibility of muscle distortion hun. If your muscles are firm and tight whenever you move your upper body it can cause the implant to be forced to rise and become visible.

No excercise for 6 weeks is the guidance we all get whether having unders or overs. Having a BA is major surgery and our bodies need time to recover and the breasts need the stability to enable them to get the best results from the surgery possible.

For those that are passionate about fitness this can hard, but after such a long wait for boobs and a heck of a lot of money to pay for them, the 6 weeks away from the gym is just a small price to pay isn't it.

Its also a shtick for most going back to the gym after having a BA too because the body even after 6 weeks is still recovering and it takes time to build yourself back up again to were you were pre-op. you tire easily at first and your boobs can ache letting you know you're doing a little too much for their liking, so you just have to take things at a pace that suits your body and not you at first, listening to your body and building yourself back up. Xx

i was never told by an of the surgeons i should have overs and i take fitness classes, but they did mention muscle distortion but as i do mostly spin classes and abs classes the risk of it was smaller xx

This is the thing I am most dreading, I am hammering it until my op! I think I am going to treat this like any injury I have ever had, although it is soooo frustrating, baby steps!
I think I am going to try and eat as cleanly as possible after my BA so that I don't get too squidgy and hopefully all those vitamins and minerals will help me recover quicker as well. However I am dreading being sat at home with the fridge calling my name.....haha. I will just have to keep complaining about it on here :) xx

I have my pre op 1 week before surgery. So I have stopped taking my multivitamins but I am still taking fish oil, milk thistle and glucosamine. Because they are supplements rather than vitamins I didn't know if the same applied for them as well.
My business partner has unders and she is a PT. but she does have some distortion already after having babies.
I was advised by two surgeons to definitely not get unders because I do a lot of weights training. And they said this would almost defiantly cause distortion.

There's a video on you tube that shows how unders can be affected by muscular chest area. But it also states the implants need adjusting. The lady is also very muscular with no bady fat at all (my opinion lol)
Just search breast aug muscular. It's only 20 seconds or something

Gosh wish I had the motivation to want to exercise... Although I am going to start hot yoga once my 8 weeks is up.

Funnynhow different surgeons say different things I have to take bit c and zinc for healing and eat a high protein diet!

Well this is interesting, I specifically asked about training. I do Crossfit which is weights and pull ups (the main reason for getting a BA is the weight lost and muscles gained has shrunk my already small boobs!) Despite explaining this he still said unders were the way to go. Thanks for bringing attention to this - will bring this up and do more research. MrsS did you want unders to start with or were you not fussed either way?

I really wanted to avoid users to be honest. A large reason for this is because I have friends with overs and unders and for the look I want I prefer te overs. But also it was reluctant to get unders because of the longer healing time. I am self employed as a personal trainer so I want to be out of the game for as shorter time as possible. Also 2 of the 3 surgeons I saw said unders were a no no considering the amount of weights based exercise I do. I do a lot of crossfit style exercise as well. So maybe it's something to being up skates. X

Cheers Mrs S :0)

I do lots of running and some upper body stuff at British military fitness plus my job is very active but girls at work have also had partials and understand and they all do weights etc and have had no issues so I'm hoping ill be the same.

I really wanted to hammer the fitness before my op but this bloody cold is sticking around so just need to shift it!! X x

Ya I think it really depends what type of excercise you do! I was told no excercise at all for at least 6weeks, possibly 8 depending, he said all i can do is walk! I'm getting unders and explained to him what type of excercise I do (cardio and light resistence training) and my surgeon said I will be able to do pretty much the same routine afterwards but will have to be careful with the resistance that works the chest muscles. I've been reccomended unders to achieve the look I want though so I'm willing to sacrifice a part of my routine for that Gym attendance 1978086825
I would definitely talk it through with your surgeon again if your anyway unsure though xx

Definitely. I am dreading no exercise. I have been hammering the gym, input on fat so easily. What to be as fit as a fiddle before no exercise x

Wonder if the uplift had a bearing on the advice to get unders - might be my only option. Might drop into the uplift section and see if anyone over there has some advice.
