HEAVY CHEST FEELING PA
Hi my friend had her BA yesterday and she is saying that the heavy chest pain feeling is so bad she cannot breathe hardly. She had 410cc unders and im having 320 cc unders so she is quite a bit diff but does every one have this even if their opting for smaller implants. She sounds really distressed with it and this is what scares me !!

Re: HEAVY CHEST FEELING PA
Bless her heart.... Tell her to get some ice packs or a bag of frozen peas or any frozen veg and place them over the tops of her bobs babe.
It is a normal symptom for some of us, but not all. We're all different and recovery may be different for everyone hun, so its really not worth worrying about something that may never happen to you hun.
Tell your friend to take her recovery a day at a time, each day will get better and a week post-op is generally the major turning point for us.
If she has access to a computer also, please tell her we're here for her should she need us and what she's experiencing is Ok and will get better. Xx

Hey, is that feeling kind if because its a weight in your chest your not used to? How long does it take to get used to feeling the weight if boobs? Obv she's just out if surgery so she's going to be very sore but the weight thing would that be the same if you didn't have any pain? Xx

Re: HEAVY CHEST FEELING PA
Its the swelling Char... Some have more welling than others so the pressure may feel quite heavy on the chest. Some don't find it too uncomfortable, others get a bit of discomfort from it.
The discomfort is different from person to person and from surgery to surgery babe, its not something you can predict. Some ladies breeze through having a BA, others like your friend find it takes a little longer before they feel better from it.
Your friend is going to be fine though. And even for those with a lot of discomfort its only really that uncomfortable for a couple of days before it starts easing up. Xx

Re: HEAVY CHEST FEELING PA
Thanks cookie. Does it have anything to do with the size/weight of the implant or is it just down to swelling? Xx

Re: HEAVY CHEST FEELING PA
Nope, nothing to do with size, weight, swelling or anything else... Its just one of those things none of us can predict hun. Until you actually have your surgery you won't know how your body is going to react to it.
But sweetness, I really wouldn't worry, at worst its controllable with pain killers and ice packs anyway. There is absolutely nothing you won't be able to cop with

Re: HEAVY CHEST FEELING PA
The feeling after a BA Katie, is very different to that of an asthma attack lovely. Its more of a heavy weight you feel that the constricted feeling from asthma lovely.
You'll be OK hun and now you'll know if you do feel heaviness on your chest not to panic, its all very normal. You'll feel it when you wake after surgery so you'll still be in the hospital too and they'll also give you the reassurance needed.
It could be particularly scary when with asthma, but now you're prepared for the sensation, you should be just fine xx

I used to have athsma too, I felt like I do when I have bronchitis, like I could breathe, but couldn't take a really deep breath. Like someone was kneeling on my chest. This lessened after 3-4 days though hunni.
I found it totall worth it!!!
good luck :)

Re: HEAVY CHEST FEELING PA
This is one of the things that is worrying me the most. I hate the thought of feeling like there's something heavy on your chest and that you cant get enough breath. I'm sure I'd have a panic attack One of the reasons why I'd prefer to have overs but not sure if there would be a lot of difference in the feeling anyway??

Re: HEAVY CHEST FEELING PA
Aaaaw hunni don't let it worry you! The reason i felt like that was because i let myself panick instead of just staying calm and taking nice slow breaths & also because when i came round i was near enough laid flat so the heaviness eased alot when the nurses helped me sit up abit
Maybe there would be abit of a difference with overs but think you would still have the heaviness but sure one of the girls will help you with this!!!
Try not to worry yourself hun!! You will be fine i promise
