as some of you know me and my fiancé have been struggling to get finance for the op because i'm a student and he doesn't meet the criteria for being a guarantor (not a homeowner) I've got some inheritance which is enough to cover the op, he thinks we should use it and then pay back into the acct as and when we can but I just feel SO guilty spending this money that was left for me to help me set up my adult life, house, car etc on cosmetic surgery :( any advice ladies xxxx

Aww Hun, that is a tough one!! I would say if your in doubt at all do nowt!! Any doubt in your mind about not spending it on surgery then don't, you may live to regret them? When the time is 100% right what's ment to be will be. I couldn't get finance because I'm self employed, so I cut back on a lot of things and have saved up!! Xx

I think if you ask most mothers on here if she felt guilty spending that kind of money on herself when she has children with constant needs they'd all say the same - they feel guilty yes and I'd presume many single girls or women without children also feel some guilt too at spending such a large amount that pay for so many other things needed.

But... We all have to ask ourselves through this guilt will the changes make you feel like a better person and therefore enrich your life in other ways? For me it was a yes. I felt great guilt when I had my second surgery, but I'm glad I overcame it and so much happy with boobs than I was without and has extended through my life too...

Its a very personal thing though, and you have to decide whether the BA will help you move on with your life? Or should you use the money to move and get on with your life?

Another suggestion might be to half the money. Take half toward your BA and then you can add to it whatever you afford each month?

Good luck with your decision lovely... Xx

I've done something similar, me and my partner have some savings which is building up for an extention on our house ( as we will never be able to move again due to how expensive it is!) so I borrowed the money and I'm paying it back. So it's an interest free loan to myself. I think you should go for it if a ba is something you've always wanted. But at your age it is inevitable you will need a further ba or 2 in your life time so something else to think about x

God it sounds awful as I'm about to 'say it out loud' lol I borrowed the last £700 I needed from my 2 babies savings, but they're not having it until it can go towards driving or moving etc so I've got at least 16years to pay it back :) it's up to you but I don't feel too guilty as I KNOW I will be able to pay it back and better than me owing interest and i can pay as i can without worrying aout a debt every month xx

I have always been on the poorer side of life to be honest and I inherited from my grandad, I was his main carer I fought with a lot of guilt about spending a lot on myself, but now I am post op so glad I did, I am wearing clothes I bought and never wore I'm spending less time in front of the mirror creating a figure lol , I know when I holiday with my kids ill be taking them swimming and playing in the sea without worrying if fillets will drop out all these little things have changed my confidence. It depends how much it affects your daily life and if you benefit by being happier that's going to automatically rub off on the people around you too xx

thanks for all your replies girls, it's definitely food for thought! I think when I have my next lot of consultations i'll see what they say about finance, I've heard that with a bigger deposit they're more willing to give finance so if anything I could use like 2k from the inheritance and have the rest on finance so I don't feel *too* guilty. The BA is SO important to me, and because of work restrictions I've pretty much got a one week window that I can get it done (end of march) otherwise i'll have to wait god knows how long and I've already put it back nearly a year and a half cos of health reasons!! xx
