Hey girls

I've got my ba booked for the 3rd july (if I get the transport issue sorted out) and I dont have my pre-op for nearly 2 weeks yet.

I was thinking is there anything I should or shouldnt be doing/taking now? I know they tell you at pre-op but as that will be 2 weeks before D-day I'm worried that I'll mess up something and not be able to have my ba!

I take sliming pills venom now and then, and I brought herbal suppliments today for my skin but I duno if I should take any or not?

Thanks girlies!! xxx

I stopped taking everything 2 weeks before & after surgery - everything including alcohol, vitamin supplements & garlic (basically, anything that may reduce the blood clotting time). You should be fine taking your stuff at the moment, but best call your surgeon to double check.

I was told not to take arnica but I know a few ladies around here took it, not sure how long before though.

p.s do Venom work?

Hi,

I carried on with my pill but was told not to take any herbal supplements and not to take ibruprofen or asprin.

You can still have paracetemol if you have a headache.

I was also told no garlic for 48 hours before and to cut down on alcohol and smoking for 2 weeks pre op and give up completely 48 hours before...( I don't smoke so was ok for me!!!)

I think that was about it for pre op.

Yeah I dont think I can take arnica, dont know why though. I think I might take my stuff for the next week and stop next weekend then. My PC said I'm fine to keep on taking my pill (yasmin) so thats good. And I dont take asprin or eat a lot of garlic

ps venom have worked for me helped me lose 10lb, havnt been taking them so much lately though but I found they work for me! xx

The PC told me its fine to carry on taking pill but surgeon said its not as it increases your risk of DVT. It depends whether you want to take the risk i suppose, i didnt want to x
