I agree with getstripped everybody is differant just remember even if you handle pain well like I have my boobs were nothing compared to what I had prepared for the general anaesthetic and antibiotics have really knocked me around. That is something I DIDN'T prepare for or expect so be prepared that you could be down for a week. Also days 2 to 4 are the most uncomfortable x x x

Hey lovely, I was sore and stiff and slow-moving, but found I was able to return to work on Day 4, and was driving (CAREFULLY) at that time as well. I was taking gentle walk day 2 around my flat and then day 3 around town.
I was being SUPER careful though not to raise my arms or lift anything. This includes pulling open heavy school doors!!!! If you think you'll be going with someone else, my answer is, you should be able to handle a 2 minute walk by day 4 and Christmas will be fine but you'll have to be careful of your little one not jumping on you and IMO you won't be able to pick her up or hug her (or anyone) tightly at day 10.

Best of luck hunni!!!

It took me a good few weeks to recover fully, and didn't drive for 10 days as I didn't feel up to it.
Everyone's differnt, so just take it as easy as you can and do as much as you can to prepare beforehand. X

It really does differ and there's no telling how you will be...

For me 2nd ba (3rd ba was much quicker recovery) took me 2weeks to drive.
I stooped when I walked for a while bout a week, small short walks and activity will help your recovery though.. Soreness and tightness lasted for just over a week, after a week usually a turning point for most women.

I had my BA on Thursday and got 300cc moderate profile overs. The first two days I definitely needed my boyfriend around to help me out, but after that I was able to do more for myself. It does take a lot out of you doing the simple things like walking around the house and going outside, etc. Today I drove my car to meet with my nurse...and get a mani/pedi (felt amazing haha)...and it felt okay, as well as I'm a lot more mobile and off my major pain meds. I'd say plan ahead as if you wouldn't be able to do that stuff on your own, just in case you can't so you won't feel helpless.

I think how you've been planning ahead is going to help you out big time when it comes to your actual surgery. Will be a huge piece of mind for you.

I had unders hun. On day 1 I took a 10min walk to the shops and back and although pain free I did go slow & I did hold on to my boobs for dear life haha. But it was fine. I have been driving my to my bfs which is about a mile away since day 4. & today I'm driving half hour away to my post op appointment at 1week. I feel like I could do the things you said no problem. But everyones different at how they cope. Good luck with it all xox

Sounds like you have a high pain threshold anyway, (I suffered horribly after my 1st c-section)
Also you seem very prepared already!
I'm sure things will be fine, take it step by step.

I'm two weeks PO today and on the whole if i take it easy I'm pretty much back to normal. I did go out shopping for about 4-5 hours on Sunday though - had Xmas shopping to do here before i come back to the UK and have felt really run down since. Every one seems really different with their recovery, just listen to your body :smiler:

Reading this has made me feel better, have had the same concerns! I have two weeks off work and my dad around to help with the kids but was having panics about having to go to work on week three and having to drive as PS said absolutely rest for two weeks and no driving for three.

Obviously everyone is different but I think I have quite a high pain threshold (am prepared to be proved wrong come January tho!)

Ohhh it sounds love that you'll get a new comfy bed to come home to, for me sleeping was the most challenging part of it all! It was just so uncomfortable, a combination of backache and a restless night wore me down!

I was fine by day 2 for light duties, I managed to go food shopping, a dentist appointment and shopping but I felt lightheaded for it and was happy to get my pjs on! My best advice is focus on prep work, ensure there's someone to cover all areas so you won't have to do anything you aren't capable of! If you feel upto something great but if not just take it easy and have a nice relaxing time off over Christmas!

Stock up on pillows, ice/heat packs, comfy clothes and make the most of it!xx

Hi tinkerbell,
One day I'm nervous, next day excited, and then worried haha! Very mixed bag of emotions going on... thoughts over size, worries about recovery (especially as its christmas!) but then general happiness that I will have some amazing boobs... one day!!! reading stories its definite that my boobs will take some time to be amazing... but one day they will and thats keeping me going lol
We seem to have the basic same stats so we can share the journey! xx
