Heartburn after BA?
Just wondering if any of you ladies have gotten a heart burn/sore stomach after your BA? I've basically had it all day and its driving me nuts. Not sure if its from the medication or if this is a normal thing?

Re: Heartburn after BA?
Hi Alexandria. Heartburn can be caused by your meds/antibiotics so is perfectly normal. Hopefully it will settle when you have finished the course. They say herbal/ginger tea is good for it. There's plenty over the counter stuff available so might be worth visiting a chemist. If that doesn't help & it gets really intolerable, you may want to see your GP for a prescription (Zantac) - although I'm sure that wont be necessary.

Re: Heartburn after BA?
I had heartburn the first few days after my op, think it was down to the strength of the painkillers I was taking. I found peppermint tea (soothes the stomach and digestive system) and gaviscon were my saviours.
Hope it passes soon xx

Thanks ladies I'm glad I can talk to you all about this stuff. The tea idea would be great because I've been on quite a loose leaf tea obsession lately and I'm always looking for more reasons to get new teas. Stomach is feeling a bit better today, but I'm definitely getting the Buddha belly so I think I'll need to get something for that as well lol.
Snowy51 - I'm feeling alright today. Slept MUCH better last night than I did the first night. My back pain has migrated up to my upper back though so I have a nice heat pack on it right now. Still have to hold my boobs when I get up an walk around for a bit as they still feel so heavy. Today I'm allowed to take the dressing off except the bandages over my incisions and I can also take a shower too, but it feels so weird taking the surgical bra off so I might wait

Pleased to hear you slept better. I always think you can cope with most things if you get a good nights sleep :) I know what you mean about it feeling strange with no sports bra. I'm exactly the same - much prefer it on! x
