Help do I have cc?
Hi girls, I'm worried I've developed cc. I'm 7 months postoperative with 445 extra high profile overs. I have only just noticed last night my right implant feels harder than my left and looks slightly different to the other. It feels like rippling but much more pronounced. I'll phone my ps tomorrow but does anyone know what the treatment and liklihood is?
Otherwise they have been fine up until now but my right scar took longer to heal as it had a small infection.
I am trying to lay hard on my front but hope its not to little to late?
Thanks for your help xx

Re: Help do I have cc?
I don't know much about it but just want you to know that we're all here to listen to you when i went for my consultation they said that up to the first 3 years if you develop CC in that time they replace them for free but i was told they'd recommend polyurethane (sp?) the second time around because it has a lower risk but the implant is £750 dearer. Sorry i can't be more help but that's all i know chick x x x x
Re: Help do I have cc?
There are 5 grades to CC, 1 is normal we all have a capsule around the implant so I guess we all got grade 1.
2 is slightly firmer but you probably won't notice to much
3 is firmer again and you will notice
4&5 are where you get distortion and pain. Your aftercare will usually cover you for grade 4 & 5.
They would usually suggest daily massage for the start of CC, maybe take vitiamins to help it.
I would try not to worry though, I'd see you PS and see what he says first.

Re: Help do I have cc?
Was your right implant as soft as the left before you noticed hun or have you only just taken notice of the differences now? Xx
Re: Help do I have cc?
Hey thanks guys,
Cookie they both felt the same before and now the right feels more rigid and closer to the surface. The implant almost feels like its lost some gel and that's why I can feel the outer shell more if that makes sense. If I lie on my front to squash them the right feels a little uncomfortable. I'm sure it's only just happened in the last couple of days.

Re: Help do I have cc?
If its only been noticeable for the last few days, I'd get the old sportsbra back out hun and get your boobs back in some support. Often we don't even realise it but we can sometimes overwork the upper body and it does have an affect on how your boobs feel and look if there's a little swelling too and if its no better after a week I'd make an appointment for your surgeon to check it out for you lovely. Of course if you're very concerned about it it doesn't hurt to see your surgeon straight away if you're worried.
Let us know how you get on hun. Xx

Re: Help do I have cc?
Hope you get good news, you're doing the right thing by going to see surgeon straight away I just left mine and it got harder and harder and then I had to have a capsulectomy. My left felt firmer than the other very early on although you say yours both felt the same until recently so fingers crossed you might not have cc, maybe just still settling?
Good luck.x

Re: Help do I have cc?
Hey lovelies, so I went and saw my surgeon and thank God, although I have a slightly higher grade capsule on my right , it's nothing to be worried about. What I had at the time was capsulitis (inflammation if the capsule) which normally has associated pain and redness, neither of which I had. After a couple if weeks it settled down and I don't have an odd looking, lumpy boob now Hurruh!
Ps my surgeon was so lovely and reassuring it was nice to see him again

Re: Help do I have cc?
Hi, I've not been on the site for a long time, but came on as i am feeling pretty much what you describe in your first post and am worried about CC in my right boob. I'm really pleased that it turned out OK for you :) Can I ask if there was any treatment for the capsulitis, or does it just go away?
Thanks

Re: Help do I have cc?
Hey Zoeb the treatment was just ibuprofen for the inflammation. But it had settled down after a couple of weeks. Though I can feel my right implant more than my left but it doesn't look odd now.
I'm sorry to hear you have similar problems, are you going back to see your ps? Good luck and hope its ok.
Thanks for your concern katielou

Re: Help do I have cc?
Glad it's ok, definitely keep an eye on it.
I had a Capsulectomy last week. I had distortion and so much pain at first I thought I was having a heart attack! I could also feel the capsule through my skin (and they were unders) you could push it and feel it click, was disgusting, my ultrasound showed some rippling too. I want to ask my surgeon how thick it was when I see him next month.
