I've been prepped myself for my op today, had arm pits waxed, shaved legs, done me bits, how wax on hair, the lot! All I have to do tomorrow is pack my bag. And then..... I look down just now and just realised I still have shallac on my toes and can't get the bl@@dy stuff off! panic so I've just had to call the girl who does my nails and beg her to come down and take it off for me. She's such a love, she's on her way down now to sort me tootsies out lol.

Just when I thought I could relax! :doh:

I think nerves are kicking in now Alice lol. I just hope nothing comes up tomorrow and I can just get my bag sorted and look forward to Monday morning. Xx

I had my shellac removed from my finger nails, but it's still on my toes. Was hoping to get away with that but now thinking perhaps not!

It's got something to do with managing the oxygen levels whist under anaesthesia. With the nail beds exposed they can monitor the nail beds because the nail beds turn blue when there is a lack of oxygen. I also read somewhere about the red light they pop on your finger or sometimes a toe too whilst having surgery. No idea what it's called sorry, but nail varnish affects the light that shines through and gives the anaesthetist a good indication of oxygen levels. Xx

I'm now varnish clear! That stuffs a bugger to get off lol.

It's a sats probe. They could have always used a finger instead of a toe :)

Maybe they're extra cautious shrug for some reason they like 'all' varnish removed. Xx

I know, she was awfully good. Came straight from work to take them off for me. I'm lucky to know her. Lol!
