Re: Post ba LOOK vs actual bra measurements
I think people thinking they look smaller than their bra size is one of the biggest misconceptions about having a BA.
Pre-op when I thought of an F cup, I envisioned these whopping great hammocks and never on a smaller women, I always pictured that size on a larger woman.
After surgery after discovering I was an F cup at first i was shocked. But then I looked into the fact that my 32 back in an F cup is a far cry away from a 36F cup! They aren't the same size at all!!! In the 36 they really do look like the hammocks I imagined and when I put the 36F next to my 32F the difference is huge and my bras look like tiddly tiny things next to them!!!
There's also the fact that many of us will have never had a proper fitting pre-BA so although we might think we were an A cup for a lot if us, due to the smallness of our backs, it's very possible you were a C cup to start off with. Now that's hard to get your mind around isn't it, but it's very true.
Bottom line, if you're fitted into a specific cup size, you fill that specific cup size, then you LOOK that cup size. Xx

Re: Post ba LOOK vs actual bra measurements
When I first went bra shopping after being measured at a 32f I remember picking up a32f and thinking it was huge and there was no way my new boobs would fit in that bra even though they were bigger. But on trying it on they fit perfectly. I felt mine looked a dd and I still do but that's my preconception of what a dd should look like on someone with a 36 back with my boobs a dd would probably be right. This is why pictures to show the surgeon exactly the look your after is a must. If you go on bra size alone it's very easy to end up bigger or smaller than you wanted. As for looking smaller clothed its all a matter of what you wear. I can make mine unnoticed or I can make them look bigger than they actually are all with the style fabric or cut of the top/dress I'm wearing. It's something you learn over time but at first it's very difficult.

Yes I agree that te size that you actually are pre op and the size that you think you are is very different. I have spent the best part of my life wearing a 32A, as in my head, that was my size. I had a fitting for the first time a few months back and it turns out that I am a 28C! I still go by the 32A though as I think if you tell people you are a C cup, most people dont understand the importance of the back size measurement and think that your boobs are bigger than they are.
With this in mind, going to a D cup post opp, is probably not going to be too hard! So if I do get the 40cc's that I want, I will more than likely end up a DD or an E! (Hopefully).
But yeah, I agree it is all about what you want to look like and not about the sizing. I will be taking pics of what I want to look like in my next consultation. xxx
