Implant size confusion!
Hi.
I had my consultation with my surgeon this week and have come away not really knowing what size I have opted for?
My stats are:
5ft 2in
100 pounds
Currently wear 32A.
I asked to be a D cup post op. The implants that he gave me to try were, in my opinion, too big, so I asked for smaller ones to try, but they didn't have the samples. In the end I opted for for a size that I think was between 300cc and 350cc.
Does anyone have similar stats and what size did you end up with? I am just terrified that I have paid all this money and waited so long, to potentially end up dissapointed if they are too small. I would at least like to be a big C, small D.
Also, if I think that I have chosen the wrong size, what it the likelihood that I can change the size now. My op isnt until 24th November 2012.
Can anyone offer some advice to a newbie?
Thanks.

Re: Implant size confusion!
You can change your mind usually the morning of the op. I'm having 410 and I'm a small b to take me to at least a d cup. I was told by another surgeon 300cc mentor hp would take me to a full c or dd so you should be fine. Cookie and other mods can help you more though :)

Hi,
Thanks for the advice. I will try and get throught to the surgeon this week to confirm my implant size and potentially head to another clinic to try them out. Good news that I can potentially change size if I am not happy with them.
Many thanks. x

You're welcome to look through our [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] if you'd like to take a look through.
Please do take into consideration though that even if you do find someone here with the exact same stats as yourself and having the exact same implant size/profile chances are you might very well end up with a different result, so do take anything you find as a 'general idea'.
The reason for this is because we have an anatomy that is unique to ourselves. So, you have have more/less overall body fat than the other lady with the same stats, you may have more/less breast tissue, your rib cage may be wider/narrower, it may be concave or slightly protrude, your breasts may fall differently, you may have a narrower, wider cleavage, all these factors and many more will be what will determine your size babe.
I'd suggest you make another appointment for a consultation with your surgeon so you can have a more in depth chat about what will be right for you.
Taking pictures into a consultation with you will help both you and the surgeon to get on the same page so you both know and can talk over exactly what you want. As surgeons work in volume (CCs) rather than cup sizes they get a better idea of how much volume would be need to achieve the look you're looking for.
You can find pictures of boobs of all shapes and sizes in men's mags such as Nuts or celebrity gossip columns of celebs in their bikinis.
If you do take in pictures though, try and find pics of women with similar body types as yourself, it just helps give you a better idea of what could realistically be possible for your body type. Xxx

Re: Implant size confusion!
Great advice from cookie, but just a rough guidance for you, I'm a 32b ish, 5'2" and around 8 half stone. I think I'm about 28" round my rib cage and want to look a D/DD. I've been advised 270s, I've asked for 300s and my PS said he will see what looks best on the day

Re: Implant size confusion!
Thanks for all the great advice.
Completly appreciate that everyone is different. I am just trying to put my mind at ease at this point! I will book another appointment with the surgeon and be more confident about telling him what I want.
Hopefully I will get a chance to try some and get the results that I want!
Thanks ladies! x

Re: Implant size confusion!
heya, there is really no way of telling what you'll be because i asked to be around a C/small D and ended up being a E/F. So in my opinion, take some pics of what you wanna look like and hope that your surgeon will get that look for you :)

Re: Implant size confusion!
I've got very similar stats to you - I'm 5'3, 102lbs and 32A (although I'm wondering if I should be wearing 30 rather than 32).
I told my PS that I want to be a full C or D, and he recommended 260-300. I've asked him to bring both on the day and see which one looks better :)x

Re: Implant size confusion!
Hi Torizia,
Well thats reassuring. I have managed to book another consultation with the surgeon as I want to make sure that 310cc will be big enough. I think I have decided that I would rather be too bog than too small!
Let me know which ones you decide on! x

Re: Implant size confusion!
Hi Hun I'm 5'3 8ish stone and was 32b preop. My surgeon recommended 260 or 300 I agreed to 260 but then worried they would be too small. On day of surgery I asked him about 300 again he said on my frame I would look fake so I agreed to have 260 I am so glad I did they are perfect and he was right any bigger would have looked silly on me. Good luck sizing really is the headache but trust your surgeon they know so much more then we do xx

I had 315 for my 1st BA, went from 30A to 30DD. I'm 5'1, size 6. I think that size will definitely get you your D cup so I wouldn't worry too much x

Re: Implant size confusion!
Hey ladies,
Thanks for the advice. I am hoping that the 300cc's will give me a D cup. I want to be sure though so I think that when I go back for my second consultation with the surgeon next week that I will ask him for 400cc's. I would rather be to big than too small, as I have heard so many people say that they wished that they had gone bigger!
xx

Re: Implant size confusion!
Hey mrsball. In answer to your question, I actually don't know! Coming onto this forum has made me realise how little I actually know about this subject!
I am guessing that as I am of small frame that the moderate profile would be fine on me? This is pretty standard right?
Also, not sure about unders or overs? I know the anatomical difference, but cannot see the difference it will make to the look. Any ideas?

Re: Implant size confusion!
Be prepared for the ps to say your body can't fit the 400's or that you will be at risk of complications mind. As for profiles, the higher the profile the more they stick out from the side, the lower the profile, the wider they are. Unders are done when there's not enough breast tissue, they are less likely to sag. Overs can be easier to get into a cleavage, and they can sag quicker as the muscle isn't holding the implant down. Everyone's different though x

If he says that, thats fine. He is the expert and I wouldn't want to cause problems for myself. But I would like him to advise me on the biggest size that I can take. I know this will be bigger than 310cc as I originallly tried bigger implants and I got scared and asked for smaller! I now realise that I thought that they looked too big as anything more than what I have now lookes big - just not used to seeing myself with boobs I guess!
I will ask for 400cc and see what he is prepared to do. If I want them to look round (not tear drop shaped) and even on my chest, I am guessing that's Medium to Low Profile right?

Re: Implant size confusion!
The profile has to fit your body type and breast width babe, so the lower the profile, the wider your breast has to be to accommodate it..
Also if you're pushing for a larger implant than requested, do ensure your surgeon is in agreement with your decision. We've recently heard on here about a surgeon agreeing to do the surgery to give girls a larger implant, but not committing to it themselves. They refuse to help make the choice and will just go along with whatever the patient wants.
You're paying for your surgeons expert opinion Princess, so make sure the final decision making is his. That way any problems you might have post-op will be the responsibility of the surgeon, rather than putting that on you making you choose for yourself. Xx

Thanks for the advice Cookie.
Yes I will make sure that he is in agreement. I won't go larger than he recommends. I think that I will end up with high or medium profile as I am a size 6, although I do have broad shoulders?
Will just have to wait and hear what he says!

Re: Implant size confusion!
I wouldn't ask for "400cc". I would ask, what is the biggest implant my body can take without risking complications/rippling/etc?
