the cats out the bag!
thanks to an overexcitable colleague (maybe bitchy more than over excitable?) everyone has started talking bout my ba, i did say to my boss i didnt mind telling the truth about it as i have no boobs so everyone will know anyway, but thanks to my 'workmate' who announced loudly in the yard office in front of clients and staff that 'sammi will want to go out loads when she s got new boobs' thankfully everyone was very nice and mostly concerned that i wasnt going to some back alley clinic in latvia, oh and trevor is excited ewww lol i dread what they are saying behind my back, oh well i spose its better to get all the gossip and questions out of the way b4 i actually have my ba coz i imagine i m going to feel a bit self consious after, but sooo wishing i hadnt been so open and honest grrrr any advice on how best to handle this would be great coz i m feeling a bit rubbish today.

Re: the cats out the bag!
Really sorry to read you've had to deal with that Sammi, it must have been awful for you babe
Personally, I'd nip the talk in the bid now, if you hear any further discussion about your boobs, just tell them yes, you're having a BA, but your boobs never have and never will be up for discussion, so that's the last you ever want to hear of it.
If it continues sweetie, I'd personally make a complaint to whoever deals with these things at your place of work and get it stopped now. xx

Re: the cats out the bag!
oh it was mortifying i think closer to the time i will need to get a t shirt printed that reads
YES i m having a 'Boob job'
NO i m not going abroad
NO i m not going too big
NO i m not going to look like victoria beckham
NO they will not explode (hopefully lol)
NO you cant see them
NO you cant touch them
YES u can ask inappropriate questions if u allow me to kick u in the testicles with my steel toe cap boots for the duration of the conversation.
i think something like that might just shut them up lol, thanks for the advice cookie its better than the t shirt idea lol i will man up and be firm with everyone when i m next in, also i know there is another piece of workplace gossip about to break that will overshadow my boobs hopefully lol xxx

Re: the cats out the bag!
For that reason I've only told a few immediate family members, I do have a few good friends but I know one of them would slip up so I've decided not to tell them for now.
My reason for not telling is that I can't be doing with peoples negative opinions, I am really excited about my surgery and have finally made the decision to have it done after years of pondering! I don't want any gossips taking the shine off it for me!
If any one asks when I've had it done, depending on who it is, I may deny it - I'm not ashamed but I just think it's non of their business! If any of my close friends ask then of course I'll be honest.
Cookies advice is good!
And I think your right about "bitchy" she is probably really envious and would love to be in your position!
xx

Re: the cats out the bag!
Oh dear Sammi, thats rubbish you have to go through that :(
I've been lucky that i'm at uni and have had my op in the holidays - so hopefully by September no one will remember in detail what my boobs were like before!
I think your idea for a t-shirt is fab! haha! It'd definitely shut up the busybodies that ask all the stupid questions! But as Kay say, people talk, but it'll be old news soon. It's probably best to wait for it to blow over, and only if it doesn't then take action like cookie advised. Best wishes hun!

Re: the cats out the bag!
Oh Sammi, what a pain! I'd probably give it a day or two to blow over, let everyone get it out of their system and move on (it may sound hard but sometimes if people can just get over it naturally it makes the least deal out of it in the long run). But if it continues after that or if anyone is inappropriate, like Cookie said, you need to stand your ground and make sure people know that being a topic of gossip is unacceptable. Your t shirt idea sounds hilarious, especially if you think you have the kind of work place where that would actually work.
I'm sorry about your gobby colleague too. Most of mine know but that's partly because we all had an 'omg if only I could get my boobs done' conversation about two weeks before I actually decided to get mine done so I knew they'd be supportive. If you feel it's worth saying, it might be worth mentioning to that girl that you weren't wanting to make a big deal out of it, but only you can really know if you think it will have any affect on her. Maybe your boss should tell her that mentioning personal details about staff in front od clients is unacceptable at the very least! Hugs xxx

Re: the cats out the bag!
My BA came out at work, it was all my fault as I'd been too trusting in the people I'd told. It got off to a rocky start but now I'm actually pleased it isn't a secret... I don't have that pressure to try and keep my BA from people.
The best advice I have is take it on the chin and anything that hurts your feelings make the people aware it isn't acceptable. I went to my manager on one occasion as the person wouldn't listen when I said he had to stop the discussion. For another person he apologised and said he didn't realise it would bother me as it was a "joke". Some people can be a little ignorant, but don't let their opinions get in the way of what makes you happy. x

Re: the cats out the bag!
I find the easiest thing to do is to tell the person you know will tell everyone whatever you tell them so you don't have to bother answering questions!
I also think if you make a decision you make it with all of these things in mind and as long as your sure it's the best thing for you then you can confront any situation head on and with confidence. Anyone that is negative about it is not worth worrying about.
I imagine most women that bitch about it and make a song and dance about it want people to know its a boob job because you will have a fabulous chest and they need to make an excuse for themselves, otherwise they would realise its an important part of femininity and confidence and self esteem.
I personally would tell the men, although I always get on with male colleagues better than female colleagues anyway, and take the wind out of their sails.
Rant over... Wishing you a fabulous chest and many years of confidence after your BA x x x

Re: the cats out the bag!
There's always one colleague, I think that happened to me the day before she blurted something out just as we were all leaving, and as you know all the questions started rolling out. The fav 'can I feel them' no you cannot feel them would you do that with somebody that doesn't have implants, so why would I let you do that now! Lol

Re: the cats out the bag!
OMG I agree with that one Vicci - I've had married men ask if they can feel them, and they're asking IN FRONT OF THEIR WIVES! and the best part is, the wives don't seem to mind! It's like, if they're implants, they're not really boobs?? I DON"T THINK SO!!
