sex after BA?
Hi,
Do you girls mind sharing how soon after your ops you were back to having a normal sex life? I've read that pain/numbness/over sensitivity can all last for weeks/months/ up to a year, and was wondering how its going to affect my relationship!!
xoxoxo

Re: sex after BA?
We don't mind at all sweethheart. We're all adults here, so it's fine, but as this section of the board Is public, we'd prefer nothing too explicit. lol :smiler:
I think I was about 2 weeks post-op, the morning boob really got to me and made it very uncomfortable for a while, so I made him wait lol, till 'I' felt comfortable enough for him to get back to having sex with me. I kept my sportsbra on though for the time recommended by my surgeon and it was defiantely after 6 weeks before I let him touch. The swelling, hardness and the stitches, just didn't appeal to me, but when I felt ready I guided him to how much pressure I could take on them until I felt ready for him to go it alone lol.
I have read that you should steer clear of sex for at least one week post-op because when you become aroused, the blood rushes to your breasts making them swell even more and could put pressure on the new wounds, but I've known plenty of girls here get back into the swing of things just days after surgery and they're been just fine.
So just dont make your man any promises babe. Take your recovery a day at a time and when YOU feel ready, just go with it. Boobie play may take a little longer, but again, just go with what you feel comfortable with. If your man is understanding of you just having had major surgery and needing time to heal, it shouldn't affect your relationship at all babe xx

Great to hear ladies!
I guess it really does just depend on how you heal!
Thanks :)

Re: sex after BA?
I was back at it after 2 days!!
Saying that, though.. it was probably the most uneventful sex you can imagine. Lay there, propped up on my V Pillow, making sure he didn't get within 30cm of my chest!! Hahaha! He was a bit impatient... if it was up to me, I'd have maybe waited a week or so....
xx

Re: sex after BA?
I don't get to see my boyfriend much as we're in a long distance relationship, but I saw him a week after my BA and we "did the dirty deed"! However, like kiwigirl I would have waited if it wasn't going to be so long until I next saw him. It wasn't painful at all, just a bit awkward! :P
But I think it all depends on your personal recovery! I was really lucky to have very little pain throughout and no real mishaps, but you have to take your time and do whatever feels right for you
