Stranded like a turtle.....!
Left the hospital on weds morn feeling pretty good and surprised at how little pain I felt....fast forward 15 hours, i'm in bed and wake up in soooo much pain had slept through a dose of painkillers and boy did I feel it...crushing and tugging and achey feeling! I decided to get myself up and take some painkillers but I genuinely could not move, not a single part of my upper body...had no strength to tense my tummy muscles and obviously can't use my arms so I sat and shouted for my mom whos room is down the landing from mine(it was about 1.20am) no answer after about 10 mins of trying! Whatever happened to women sleeping llightly to listen for their kids?!!
I had to ring my sister who's bedroom is in the loft to come help me up and sort me out...I actually felt like a turtle stuck on it's shell! Then my dad had to scoop me upright when he got up this morning...damn slippy pjs and stuff!
Once i'm up abd about i'm fine, and once i'm laid down (propped) i'm fine...it's the middle bit to get to each position that is crazy :( thought what I felt leaving the hospital was a bit too good to be true!
But on the plus side....I am already in love with my boobs...keep having a nose down my top, in any mirror, having a little (super gentle) cup underneath through my top...just so strange!! xxx

Re: Stranded like a turtle.....!
Awww its the swelling that kicked in babe, day 3 is when its generally at its worst and it 'slowly' gets better after that.
What you're feeling when you wake up is what we refer to as 'morning boob' babe, it's not at all pleasant and I personally found this the worst of my BA journey. It does get better though and you're best just taking your recovery a day at a time allowing your body to heal in its own good time lovely. Oh and definately steer clear of satin/silky PJs haha I did the same babe and slipped down the bed and couldnt for the life of me get myself back up

Hahaha I am sorry to laugh Abbie but I too did the same thing....Pre op girls should be warned to do sit ups on the countdown to their BA haha.
I'm pleased to hear you're happy with them! I hope you're healing nicely and enjoying relaxing as much as possible! x

Ye i'm 2 days post-op and morning boob is def the worst. Almost screamed when i sat up this morning, not looking forward til tomorrow.
I'm also looking in mirrors when i pass them and having a gentle cup underneath my breast (it's great having something to cup ). Also i was changing my bra before and tried my bikini top on, sooooooooo much better than when i wore it on holiday last month x
