Nuffield Aftercare Policy?
Hi Ladies,
Does anyone know what aftercare Nuffield offer? I had my BA with them almost 2 years ago but due to one of my breasts suddenly being larger and firmer I am seeing my PS tomorrow to get her opinion on it!
It's got me thinking, what if I need a re-op, would I have to pay? I know I can find these things out tomorrow but I just wondered if anyone here knows? I can't seem to find any of the relevant paperwork!!

Re: Nuffield Aftercare Policy?
I can't find any info just yet Daisy on The Nuffields after care, I'll try and have another look for you later though lovely.
What I will say is that even if I do find it, it's possible it may have changed since you had your surgery 2 years ago anyway hun, so I'd suggest it's best you ask at your consultation tomorrow Daisy.
If your after care has run out and you do need any revision, unfortunately, the cost will be yours sweetness.
Please let us know how you get on wont you. xx

Thank you Cookie, I will let you know!
It's awful waiting!! I've been reading on here to see if I can get an idea of what it might be.....do you think it could have ruptured? I don't have any pain though.

I wouldn't like to say lovely... The only possible way for you to know that would be through a scan unfortunately.
Go and see what your surgeon thinks tomorrow babe and just take things from there. Hopefully all will well, so try not to worry Daisy and just see what's said first hun. xx

Re: Nuffield Aftercare Policy?
I've just had a re-op with Nuffield 15 months after my original op. My PS arranged it all, he spoke with hospital and anaesatist (sp?) who all waivered fees so I didn't have to pay.
For a little while I was concerned I would't get a free re-op but i needn't have worried as my PS came good and sorted it.
I have had virtually no direct dealings with Nuffield and have always communicated with my PS or his secretary.
Good luck Hun, one thing I will say from experience is don't give up and stick to your guns!! x

Re: Nuffield Aftercare Policy?
Thanks ladies....Contessina, I think a lot of it comes down to the discretion of the surgeon, good news that you got yours re-done for free!
My PS examined me and thinks that as the implant sits low down in my breast and the swelling appears to be at the top/side of the breast that it is nothing to do with the implant! She said I needed to have a scan because without that it's impossible to tell what's wrong. She said that if I had the scan privately it would cost £150 so she advised me to go to my GP and get a referrel (sp) Luckily i saw my GP this aft and she has refered me to breast clinic at hospital where i will have a scan, this should happen within 2 weeks!
So I'm no further forward with the problem but do feel happier that my PS didn't seem overly concerned! I didn't think it hurt but I seem to have a dull ache there now but maybe this is because I've been prodded and poked today!
Does anyone know what the scan involves?

Re: Nuffield Aftercare Policy?
I don't doubt lovely the scan will be just to check that your implant is intact as although your surgeon couldn't 'feel' anything, it's impossible for her to write off a rupture without having you get a scan done.
I'm not saying your surgeon thinks you have a rupture, just that that you need this scan to rule out what could be the cause of the swelling
For £150, you'll probably be having an ultrasound scan lovely, if you've ever had a baby, it's similar to that where they apply gel to your breast (instead of your pregnant tum lol) then move a probe over the breast to check all is well sweetheart. xx

Re: Nuffield Aftercare Policy?
Thank you, I'm feeling quite relaxed about it at the moment.....my friends think it seems bigger because I have lost weight and the smaller one has got smaller, iykwim!!
However, as the larger one is spilling over the top of my bra which it never did before then I don't think it is to do with my weight loss, it also looks much rounder from the side!
