Could I just ask how do I go abouts finding out about the surgeons I see, their reop rates.
Can I just be blunt and ask, I dont want to get on the wrong side of the surgeon if you know what I mean.
thanks xxx

Re: Requesting Reop rates guys??
Just ask isothero. If a surgeon got disgruntled at you asking any sort of question, then they're not the surgeon for you lovely.
You want a surgeon you feel you can approach and trust to have your care and happiness with their work at heart, not some egomaniac that you'd be frightened to upset should you have a problem.
Remember, your surgeon and after care are the 2 most important decisions you're going to have make to ensure you're getting the best for your body, so take your time, ask the questions that matter to you pre op, no matter what they might be, to ensure you know you're going to be happy post-op sweetheart. xx

Thanks for the fab reply
I also thought that the surgeon could perhaps tell a white lie if I asked him verbally, in order to make me feel more happy to go with him?
Or should I just take his word for it?
What did you do?

Re: Requesting Reop rates guys??
Its very possible your surgeon could lie sweetheart and this is why research is so important too, forums like BJSF are a wonderful tool and you have the ability to seek surgeons reviews from their actual patients to find out how their surgery went and if they're happy.
Unfortunately re-ops are sometimes inevitable as there are risks involved when you have a BA and every surgeon should explain the risks to you, so no matter how good or experienced the surgeon might be, sometimes unfortunately for a small few of us, we'll need re-ops through no fault of our surgeon, so do bare this in mind also lovely.
When looking for a surgeon, check their qualifications on the GMC register and look which qualifications they have. If you're concerned about re-ops, being qualified in the specialist register for plastic surgery in the UK as well as having reconstruction surgery under their belt would be a bonus babe xx
