10days PO check
iv just came back from my PO check.
all went well, the nurse removed my outer dressings and cut down my stitches
it was so quick i seemed to be in and out like a flash.
I was in the consult room where i asked my questions. and she re booked my 6week appointment,
I must say i'm quiet disappointed with transform >:|
the nurse - don't get me wrong was nice as can be, but she was there to do a job.. THAT WAS IT
told me the do's and don'ts ect ect... must rub bio oil blah blah that was about it.
anyway i bumped into my patient coordinator which i could not sing her praises enough when i first met her but i saw her today and she had no interest in me what so ever, it was like oh iv got your money iv had my commission HI & BYE really. lol
the receptionist was really up her own backside too. mind you iv never really felt like a warm welcoming from any of them tbh.
i am only a little upset because i wanted to ask more but confide in my patient coordinator as she was the only familiar face and i just had a few silly/basic questions. so unfortunately i am now AGAIN relying on you BJSF lol.
Is there any creams you would recommend to help heal scars or anything?
any tips whilst showering? drying afterwards underneeth ?
Am i expecting one day to take my bra off and it gets stuck on my incisions?
just basically anything i may need to know big or small to ensure happy healing
Ill be putting my pics on soon on picturetrail, brace your self as my lefty is badly bruised :( dont be sick.
thanks girls xxxx

Re: 10days PO check
I too had mine done today! She didn't give me any info had to pick her brain, she was nice though.
Did you get steri strips? I wasn't told to put anything on mine? They're so tiny and neat aren't they I couldn't believe they were only 10 days old! I bet Paul Clarkes always getting asked to carve the turkey at Christmas with skills like that

Re: 10days PO check
I think that is the norm for most of these companies unfortunately, once they have had your money. Had my dressings off after a week and very much doubt I will hear anything from them again, but Im ok with that, as this is my fourth set, so will just phone them if I have any problems, but I can imagine if this is your first time, you would like a bit more reassurance. My scars are really long. I have been rubbing Bio Oil in at night. Ive left all dressings etc off as I think mine are better that way, but I know some of the ladies say putting a sanitary towel over them so they dont rub on your bras is good. Hope you heal up nicely. Xx

If you aren't happy with their attitudes honey, by all means raise the issue..maybe in a letter?
As for scar care etc, just keep up with the bio -oil. Some girls on here have used silicone plasters(Cookie?) and that but tbh my scars are so high in the crease I dont really notice them.x

Re: 10days PO check
Hmm she took steri strips off, put new ones on and gave me a pack and said "use a new one ech day until you run out".
Should I also be using bio oil? If so how many times per day? And what the hell is scar massage? X

Hey
There's a link below which talks about scar massage and how it's done.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Altw, I would check in your aftercare pack to see when you can start using bio oil, I started at around 6 weeks, but your ps may reccomended something else.

Re: 10days PO check
When I say aftercare pack I mean BA pack, I had a couple of pages that outlined post operative instructions, this just told you the dos and donts after BA, as well as when you should start using bio oil, silicone strips and massaging the breasts.

Welcome to the BUSINESS WORLD babes! Once they gotcha money they move on to the next 'customer'. If you're unsatisfied with the service you expected sweetheart do complain, you paid a lot of money for 'after-care' babe, so you make sure you get the best from it.
To answer your question sweetness - you could try Bio-oil or moisturiser but it's always best to get your scars checked first and get the all clear from your own nurse/surgeon before using anything at all on them.
At 12 weeks post-op I used Silicone sheets on the advice of my surgeon. I found these had a much better effect that the Bio-Oil, they are expensive to buy but re-useable, so I suppose the money evens out over time, but again NEVER use anything on your scars without permission from your clinic nurse or surgeon hun.
After showering it's best to ensure the wounds are fully dried, you can use a hairdryer on a cool setting and just gently dry the wounds this way and if you find your bra band is irritating your incisions hun, just pop a pantyliner soft side against your skin to help cushion the skin from the band hun. xx

Don't use anything on your scars at all until you get the all clear from your
nurse/surgeon babe! It may well be that you still have small openings
there and putting anything on them could put you at risk of
infection. Always follow the instructions given by YOUR nurse/surgeon
sweetie. xx
Re: 10days PO check
Thanks chick , i know ttell me about it its like right,YOU OUT ...NEXTTTT
lol.
Not going to bother kicking up a fuss i just felt really disappointed thats all, maybe i should write and let them know about my disappointment and maybe they will improve there customer service skills and hopefully get some new receptionist's that dont look down there noses at you because they are behind the desk of a cosmetic surgery group clinic,
IM THE ONE WHOS JUST PAID FOR THE SURGERY LOVE, NOT YOU!
grr anyway haha.
Yeah thats what i mean, there was no advice giver tobe honest lol.. just keep perfumed things away from scars.
she didnt say use bio oil on the scars themselvs i think she ment something oil based to glide better when massaging the boobies.
im not all that bothered about my incision marks, although they seen about 41/2 - 5inches long but they are so so fine.
i have a hell of a bruise on my righty tho :(
pics are on picture trail Btw.xx
but cookie what are silicone sheets for?
like i say im not bothered about my scars being there or not. its just confort at the time being. as i just dont want to make the irritated or anything. i felt safer having my dressings on lol.
but i wonder why she never gave me any steri strips.. hmm do you think she forgot or do you think its because maybe we all heal differently?
surely it should be the same aftercare ect, as its the same cosmetic surgery group.
xxxxx

Silicone sheets help to flatten out the scar babe giving it a nicer appearance if they're needed. You can read more HERE

Not at all, we're all individuals hun and our wounds will all heal in their own good time, for some they won't need any further instruction after their first post-op check, for others they may have to have repeat visits to ensure they get the best advice for their healing.
Cosmetic surgery recovery instructions are tailored to the individual babe, if generic advice was just handed out to all the patients then women like me and many others who took a long time to heal would have been in a whole lot of trouble hun as the extra care needed was what helped give us the results we have now. xx
Re: 10days PO check
Ohhh as Cookie said some won't need further post op care after today, are you booked in to see your nurse again at 6 weeks Alexis? I'm seeing the nurse at 6 weeks and Mr Clarke at the end of June.. Or July?
Also, when sitting in the waiting room does anyone else try and guess what all of the people there are getting done? x

Re: 10days PO check
After the first week if you feel the swelling has eased some and you're healing well you can ease yourself onto your side and see how you get on. Then over the next coming weeks as you heal and feel better you can then ease yourself into your normal sleeping position. Just take things slow though, you may feel OK, but then after a day you may find you ache, so go back to being propped up, if you've no problems then don't worry about being propped up after a week if your swelling has settled and just enjoy your sleep. xx
Re: 10days PO check
Sleeping on your side your boob won't settle in a weird position will it? I think I have fears of waking up with a boob stuck in the middle of my chest x

Nahhh it'll be fine hun, it's secured into a pocket in the breast and the pockets not going anywhere.
If you feel ready to sleep on your side, your pillows are what are going to help you ease into that. try using a pillow right by your boob on the bed on your side so your other arm goes over it, kinda like you're cuddling the pillow and another under your knee. This will help ease any pressure on your boobs so they don't ache and you can't roll over onto them.
Like I said, it's all about easing yourself in. Your implants are more robust than you think it's only YOU you have to worry about and ensure you start changing position when YOU feel ready and secure enough to ease yourself in. xx
Re: 10days PO check
Ok thanks Cookie! I guess I just get a little worried about inside, I don't want to disturb anything from healing if that makes sense. X

Re: 10days PO check
It makes absolute sense hun. Your own body will let you know when you're ready, 'cos believe me if you're not, you'll know about it! LOL. I ached for days the first time I tried to sleep on my side, but did find pillows to cushion me on the side helped lots as I wasn't actually putting any pressure at all on the implant really. xx
Re: 10days PO check
I've been leaning onto pillows behind me so I'm sort of in a between position, that's helped a but but generally sleeping has been the worst part of recovery! X

Re: 10days PO check
Yeah, it's a tough one for sure, it's all about getting that balance right with your pillows babe really to cushion your boobs and support your body whilst sleeping.
If you're still propped up remember you don't have to be sitting up, just ensure your head is raised above your chest, a pillow and your V-Pillow should be fine, a pillow under each arm also helps support you and prevents you from rolling and a pillow under the knees helps take the strain off your back too.
When you feel ready to go on your side the V-Pillow is great as I just sort of moved it to the side a little whilst still just propped up and leaned into the V-Pillow very gently and cuddled the V-Pillow with a pillow also under my knee to the side to prevent me from rolling. xxx
