PO STATS? cupsizes and back
Ok. so i just was looking at all the PO stats and i cant believe how people who have pretty much the same starting stats end up with total different out comes.
Just goes to show how everyone is different.
Anyway, thats not my query lol.
whats really confusing me is that some stats on there and iv seen and heard alot of it on comments.
How can your back size be a different measurement to what it was at pre op?(e.g im a 32 i was at pre and i am post op. i have only been waring a 34 because of swelling which has mainly gone so back in to 32's again)
wouldnt it be the same just a bigger CUP? i know the circumstances change through time like weight loss/gain, swelling ect.. and that could be a factor
But yeah i just dont get how you could start as a 34'' and end up a 30''-whatevercup? (with the same circumstances started with)
am i being silly and should i know this lol.

Re: PO STATS? cupsizes and back
I wondered that today when I got measured. The woman in Debs told me that if the back was too big & you went down 2 inches then you had to move up a cup size. I can't get my head around it - surely a C cup should be a C cup whatever your back size!

Re: PO STATS? cupsizes and back
You're not being silly at all Alexis. A lot of women who have BAs have confidence issues pre-op so the last thing they'd do is go for a bra fitting and would just wear whatever size they felt was most comfortable which more times than not would be the wrong size, hence when it comes to being properly fitted they have a completely different band size to what they stared out with. xx
Re: PO STATS? cupsizes and back
i know it doesnt make sence because if (for instance) you get a 32 DD cup bra and compare it to a 36DD bra, the 36band bra looks HUGE. a 36 would fall down if i got that lol. but there been post op stats where its been something like
preop:36'cup'
po:30'cup'
Huh, its confusing.
So does that mean now my boobies are bigger my back is going to be smaller?
just do not get it.
to get measured properly chick go to a propper bra shop like boux avenue they are good you need someone who specialises in sizes not someone who was told to work on the underware section for the day.
asif the shock absorber they fitted you in would be ok when it clearly felt really tight ... and they arent cheap wither r they. xxx

Re: PO STATS? cupsizes and back
You'll probably find if you get measured you may have always been a different back and just not realised, or may have guessed right to begin with. To be fair, considering you're really slim I wouldn't be surprised of you do end up a 30 back... Haha!x

Re: PO STATS? cupsizes and back
I think sometimes the reason your back size changes is because it was the wrong size in the beginning. Pre op I always assumes I was either a 32/34 but in actual fact im a 28 back which is a huge difference lol

Re: PO STATS? cupsizes and back
i was wearing the wrong size band before as i didnt ever want to get measured as was imbarresed of my fried egg boobies! so i was wearing a 34a even though i should of been a 32a i had 410cc overs and now range from a 32e-32ff depending on style of bra xx

Re: PO STATS? cupsizes and back
It's because people are wearing the wrong band size pre-op. I always wore 32A pre-op, I was measured after the op as a 28E/30DD. I don't like wearing 28 backs though so I wear a 30 x

Re: PO STATS? cupsizes and back
lets say one girl is a size 8 in clothes and the other is a size 16, both girls need their cup sizes to go from A-GG, now the girl who is a size 16 is going to be bigger aroun her ribs than some one who is a size 8. Their boobs are also wider. If you could take the size 8 girls boobs and put them on the size 16 girl they would be too small in width. So when they made bra sizes they had to take into account the width of the cup size. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] some more info there.
It's the same with choosing implants the smaller your frame the less width you can take, which is why they have the extra high profile implants these have less width and more projection.
Oh and the reason people can go from a 34A to 32DD is simply they were always a 32 band, they just wore the wrong size before. The band is the part of the bra that offers the most support, it should fit snugly to offer support to bigger boobs which is why we recommend getting measured after a BA to ensure you wear the right size, however some places are better than others at measuring. You should be able to fit 2 fingers under the band when you are wearing it anything less and it's too tight, anything more and your band is not supporting your boobs, your straps will be taking the weight which can result in bad back, sore shoulders etc, and of course if your boobs are not supported later on sagging could be an issue.

Re: PO STATS? cupsizes and back
ahh this topic is making me curious to what i really am now lol
so when would you reccomend i get measured propperly? im only 9days PO i see the nurse tomorrow so she will tell me if there is much more sweling to go yet, to me its gone apart from soreness under my ribs
and also when you do the 2 finger test where will it be? the back of the bra? the side or the front?
Oh and when they drop and fluff. do they get bigger or just stay the same?
Thanks girls xxxxx

Forget swelling Alexis. Your breasts are going to go through so many changes over the next coming weeks so steer clear of any temptation and wait till you reach your 6 week post-op marker. Even then when you go for your fitting at 6 weeks post-op I'd still be cautious and only buy the essentials of a white, nude and black bra sets and give your boobs another month then again go and get fitted as it's possible they may have changed again.
and also when you do the 2 finger test where will it be? the back of the bra? the side or the front?
You can do this anywhere around the band, but I'd personally leave fitting to those that know what they're doing, especially when you're first into wires and it's so important to get bras that 'fit' to keep on giving your breasts the support they need.
Oh and when they drop and fluff. do they get bigger or just stay the same?
When they're ready lol.... really, they can start to drop anytime after your swelling has reduced, fluffing like resulting sizes is another enigma! Women fluff from around 6 to 12 weeks, but can continue to flue like our very own misf1 who's breasts increased in size again at 6 months post-op! so there really is no definitive time during your recovery babe.
When you fluff you WILL increase in bust size, I fluffed at 10 weeks post-op taking me from a 32DD to a 32F.
Please note though that not all women will fluff, there are a very small few who wont but for the majority of us, we do fluff sweetness. xx

This absolutely mind boggles me! Especially how you ended up with a bigger cup size after a smaller implant was put in (if memory serves me correctly that is..)x

Re: PO STATS? cupsizes and back
Yup! Crazy isn't it! But I did have an uplift also so I guess that could possibly have had an effect on my sizing too? But then everything I read on uplifts suggested I'd lose volume!!!! just so weird!
The whole sizing thing really is like asking 'how long is a piece of string'?! you only have to read through the stats thread to read that women with exactly the same stats and exactly the same implant size can come away with various different cup sizes?! It just baffles me altw it really does and why I always suggest never comparing to others for your own results, always consult your surgeon and take pics of the 'look' you like rather than talking about the 'size' you like. xx
