left boob seeping
morning ladies, sorry i've not been on here much, back at work now and it's INSANE.
:pale:
Had a rough weekend emotionally and i'm physically tired now too!! (getting home from a meeting last night at midnight wasn't great!)
Anyway my left boob looks great except for the incision under my boob occaisonally seeps a yellowy red liquid which my mum said I think was plasma (great thing having dr biology for a mum.) or something like that. I've been wearing a small piece of gorse on it whilst its in my bra to prevent rubbing and hopefully anything yucky going into it. However last night when i got home the dressing has a huge scab on it as well as the yellowy liquid with some puss on the scab. When looking at the wound it looked like new skin trying to form....but i'm a little bit worried now....
Anyone had anything similar? Do i go get antiobiotics?? Is it normal? I dunno....i don't get my day off til thursday so may have to wait for a doc appointment (esp. as there is usually a weeks wait at my surgery.
Just a bit frustrated...everything else is healing soooooo well, my right boobs scar is practically gone!

Re: left boob seeping
It might be worth leaving it open if can so it can scab over and begin to heal

Re: left boob seeping
Think you could benefit from giving clinic a call, sounds like some antibiotics could be helpful. No point worrying needlessly! Take care xx

Re: left boob seeping
I had that!! Same boob, same time-frame. It was made worse when I lifted the boob for a clearer view. Clear liquid with a tinge of red making it a yellowy colour? About half a teaspoon a day.
Anyway, I rang Elyzea & they said it was fluid build-up in the breast pocket which was coming out this way & perfectly normal & can happen up to 6 weeks after your op.
I kept the wound clean, as dry as possible (I kept a sterile gauze on it to absorb the fluid & moisture and changed it 2-3 times a day).
Mine lasted 5 days (I think) One day I took the dressings off & there was a bit of a scab. It's not happened since, fingers crossed, they're all healed fine now.
Call your surgeon to put your mind at rest as there's nowt better than speaking to a professional, but don't worry about it. It's normal.

Re: left boob seeping
ok, so i go to my surgery and sit there waiting 40mins before the doc calls me in GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!
Anyway, she was annoyed that mybreast hadn't sent details of my operation to them as she wanted details of the op. Ah well, i tried to tell her everything i knew and she looked at my boobs....Her first words were "wow, they're pert!" which brought a smile to my face coz i'm going through a self concious stage....I've lost the new man coz of it I think. AND i'm scared they are getting too droopy...maybe my imagination
Anyway i do have a small infection so will be picking up antibiotics in the morning. I've been told to clean carefully and dress with gorse as i have been. She said i'd kept it very clean tho and the right one is fantastic.
Went to slimming world (i lost 5stone with them previously, hence the reason why i got the boobies done), and i've put on 7lbs since the week before my op. OOOOOPS. I've been treating myself though and i'm usually a gym bunnie, so I guess it all counts and i now have nice boobies too....Ah well i'll be happy when the weight has gone......xx

Re: left boob seeping
Glad to hear your GP's helped you out and is impressed with your perky new !!
Think I might have to join you in slimming club! I was a whopping 9lbs heavier 5 days post-op. Am now 'only' 4lbs heavier but need to be really careful - I can put on weight by just thinking about food
