Thank you :) I can go again now! It was horrible sitting there 20 minutes with the tap on... I think not being able to wee when I need to is my worst fear as silly as it sounds haha!x

Re: Just had BA - cant wee :(
its normal for a few hours after a general anaesthetic, but if it lasts any longer, it needs to be looked at. They shouldnt have let you out till you did a wee really

Can go just really a struggle to get it all out! If I still struggle tomorrow maybe go to my GP? It's like I have to wait ages then really squeeze and doesn't feel totally empty :/ feel dehydrated though so trying to drink more!
How long you take to get back to going normally loobs? It is horrible :( x

Re: Just had BA - cant wee :(
Hun they really shouldnt have let you out with out you being able to wee properly or even having done one, its one of the things looked at after you have had a G.A!
The problem is when you have a G.A everything goes to sleep including your bladder, they would normally make sure that everything including your bladder returns to its normal function BEFORE letting you home as not being able to wee can be dangerous The fact that your taking 20 mins to get a wee out I would get checked out by your G.p as its far from normal for you......
I can not stress enough how important it is that you have done a wee BEFORE you leave to go home after a G,A.....

Re: Just had BA - cant wee :(
I know I squeezed so much I hurt myself!
Well I'd say I felt better, like I'd emptied my bladder on the evening after so hopefully you will feel normal tonight. Perhaps if you go into tomorrow feeling like it call your GP. Have you left the hospital??I know how you're feeling. drink lots and take something to read with you next time - I know that sounds vile but it takes your mind off what you're trying to do x

Re: Just had BA - cant wee :(
Yeah it's like so much pressure when I'm trying to go its like it makes it harder cos it's in my head too haha. Might just sit on the loo later with my iPad, bottle of water and watch Gossip girl Hahahah! Sick but may help! I have cranberry capsules at home too cos I have a genuine phobia of urinary problems like cystitis (such a weird phobia I know!) will try help? Or is it just the being asleep thing? I will ring GP for appointment tomorrow morn if I haven't settled tonight, prob fit me in if I've had GA! Apart from that everything is sooo fine, I can lift my arms and poddle about no problem, no pain, just being careful I don't do anything I shouldn't even though it doesn't hurt if that makes sense? :) x

Re: Just had BA - cant wee :(
Glad things have settled now atlw and congrats on the new boobies
I have to say, I agree whole heartledly with Abbie and Crystal, Transform should never have discharged you until you were able to pass water on your own - BAD TRANSFORM!!!
I'm presuming you were given the number of the hospital upon discharge, it's usually standard practice, so if you have any further problems passing water sweetness, do use the aftercare you paid for and call the hospital for advice. xxx

Thanks! Yeah they gave me a number to call if I have any problems! I'd managed to go while I was there but only when I was really straining, sat there for 20 mins with the tap on! Other than that cant fault them for anything, the staff were lovely including Mr Clarke!
And thanks to all of you girls on here, can't even say how much this forum helped make it all 100% easy! :) x

i just want to cry tho cos i feel like a rite cabbage as my arms are coming more restricted by the hour and the babylons and getting more swollen too.
pfffttt.. starting to wish i got them when james was home so i dont have to rely on others. im too independent for all this. feeling far too emotional lol.xxx

Much better thanks loobs! I think it was partly down to dehydration but I've drank my body weight in water and tea now and so not struggling! Absolutely horrible though, I can hands down say not being able to wee when you get the urge is worse than any physical pain I've experienced (so far)! x

Re: Just had BA - cant wee :(
The very same thing happened to me honey. The GA causes your kidneys to go into retention a bit even though they give you fluids in theatre, and its SO annoying!!
When i woke up I needed to pee right away and asked 2 get up but wasnt allowed. They brought me a bedpan and I was mortified being a nurse myself. I think a lot of my problem was physcological and i sat on it for at least 30min in agony unable to go but bursting! The second time i was on it, my surgeon walked it to check on me post op and I didnt have the heart to tell him what i was up to under the covers so once again i couldnt go lol! Eventually I got so distraught and sobbing that the nurse had to help me out of bed, and the moment my bum hit the loo, i swear i must have peed about 2litres hahah!!! Still.. atleast it got me mobilising early!x

Ohhh Sophie that's horrible I can understand why you'd struggle to go in a bedpan! I wouldn't be able to go if I had people around me/waiting outside the door either so I would have been sat on it forever like you!
I was incredibly dehydrated, I usually drink sooo much water throughout the day too. Was just awful! But all better now and back to normal :) x
