Sweating
I've found a couple of threads on this, but just wondering if anyone is experiencing this at the moment or can give me an indication of how long its going to last.
I'm waking 3 or 4 times in the night and my whole body is dripping in sweat , my bra is wet, the bedcovers are wet and the pillows are sticking to my back which is really disgusting. (really sorry for TMI )
It makes me so uncomfortable that I'm having to get out of bed, dry myself down and then its taking an age to get back off to sleep.
I'm worried that when I'm back at work next week, I'm going to be like a zombie from all the night waking.

Re: Sweating
I don't think I've heard of anyone having sweats like you explained, I know some sweat between the breast and in the crease but not a full body sweat sweetness.
Have you got a fan? I'd get myself a fan in the bedroom and just leave it on a gentle breeze and see if that helps.
I honestly don't think the seating you're explaining is BA related babe, so if it's really that bad I'd make an appointment to see your GP sweetheart. xx

Re: Sweating
Nope, not ill that I can notice - feel quite good in myself, especially with the new boobies!
Sparkly - not rude at all!! I'm 40 next month, wish it was the change, but periods still pretty regular :(
I'll see how I get on in the next few days and maybe make an appointment at the Docs if it gets no better. I just put it down to the BA because its only started happening since I had it.
Thanks for the replies x

Re: Sweating
Just out of curiosity Oracle, your wounds are doing OK aren't they? No discharge or smell coming from them?
I only ask because it does seem so strange, I've definately never heard of this related to a BA. But if you had an infection maybe this might have that sort of reaction on 'you'?.
I presume you've already had your wounds checked at 10 days post-op though and all must be OK....
If all's well with your wounds hun you really should see your GP as this has been going on like you said for 10 days now, you may feel good but obviously something is causing that kind of a reaction. xx

Re: Sweating
Yep, wounds are fine, I think. Nurse took dressings off at 7 days post op and said they were healing great. I'm keeping them dry after showering & cant smell anything, but will get hubby to check when he gets home!
I've got a blood pressure monitor at home and have been keeping my eye on that since I got back and thats pretty good too.
Maybe a general health check at the docs is needed (wonder if he'll want to look at my boobies!! )

Re: Sweating
Hi Oracle.
Just a thought but were you prescribed antibiotics after your op and are you still taking them / when did you stop taking them? Also, are you still taking any pain medication?
Night sweats can be a sign of your liver working to get rid of any toxins in your body so it could be that along with the GA, any out of the ordinary pain meds and antibiotics that your body is simply trying to cleanse itself. If you think that might be what's happening try drinking hot water with a fresh slice of lemon in it a couple of times a day to help your liver along.
Hope you're feeling okay babe x

Re: Sweating
I think I feel like a bit of a fool this morning
Hubby had a good look at my scars last night, he's very squeamish, but said they look fine - had a sniff and all appears good!
I changed the sheets last night and at the same time took our 13.5 tog quilt off and replaced with a 4 tog. Had the windows on latch and didnt wear a PJ top over my bra, which I have been doing since the op.
Only woke up once in the night with a little sweating in my cleavage.
I cant believe that I didnt think about clothing and my quilt.
I'm also usually a side sleeper and not used to sleeping on my back, which I am still doing, this is probably warming me up a bit too.
Going to keep my eye on it over the next few days and if it gets bad again, will deffo take a trip to the docs, but hopefully the changes I've made will help.
Thanks for all your advice ladies.

Re: Sweating
That's good you may have worked out the problem. We bought a 13.5 tog duvet last winter and only lasted 1 night underneath it as we were so hot! X

Re: Sweating
I never have had night sweats untill I had my BA I think it may be something to do with our body getting rid of the anaesthetic my sweating come on about 3/4 days post op and was at it's worst round day 6/7 I was constantly changing my bedding and getting up in the middle of the night and having full head to toe washes :( not good at 2,3 or 4 in the morning xxx so don't worry I don't think it's anything to worry about cos I've had it to and it just goes away on it's own THANK god I couldn't keep up with washing all my bed linen lol xxx
