need to know basis...
Hi Ladies,
Got a a small (maybe huge) dilema... i work in an office and im the first point of contact for anything. My problem currently is... what should i wear post-op so people don't automatically notice. OR what shall i do pre-op? is walking around with my rice sizes and increasing the amount going to work?
Thanks,
Alex

hi alex how long hav you got until yr BA? also wot size r u now & wot size are you hoping to go to?
you cld wear a padded bra and mayb fill it more over a time, if you do it slowly people mite not notice, then wen you hav surgery it wont look to obvious!

Re: need to know basis...
I was lucky, even with big implants I could still get into my original workshirts (partly cos they were from when I was overweight). I also bought a couple of new pairs of trousers and a couple of new dresses that I didn't wear in the office until post surgery - I got lots of compliments on how my weight loss is going (it's not going at the mo as I am not being as good as I was) so the new clothes seem to have prompted people to think my bum has got smaller rather than my boobs have got bigger!

I found that with the sports bras it really is not so noticeable, although I did have an uplift as well as implants, but with a sports bra and no cleavage on show I really think it is possible to get away with it..... I have.x

Re: need to know basis...
I've worn rice boobs for the last week, and no one has noticed, though I'm only getting 240 or 210cc. A sports bra post op should help the transition. If you normally wear padded bras people may not notice anyhow xxx

Re: need to know basis...
I'd start wearing your rice boobs on and off so people could be forgiven for thinking you're wearing a better bra some days and not others....also, sports bras minimise everything so its not overly noticeable.... In 4 weeks when i can wear a better bra that might be a different matter ;) xx

Re: need to know basis...
I agree,
I am currently living with the in-laws (nightmare) and, in the few weeks leading up to my op I wore a bra that was meant to make you look 2 cup sizes bigger and it was a cup size too big. With a tight top over so you don't get the tell-tale ridge.
Currently wearing my macom and, today i wore a batwing top (so loose around the shoulders and boobs and tighter around the waist/hips) and they haven't noticed. And, after close examination by myself and my OH we've decided they look pretty similar. Except that my boobs are a little bit wider set now than in the bra.
(exactly what i wanted)

(not the wider set boobs, I wanted them to look good with no bra on but not look much different in clothes!)

Re: need to know basis...
Thanks ladies, you guys are amazing. I went to primark this weekend and bought myself some "chicken fillets", wearing them today with my 32c bra and no one has commented (although the day is not yet over). Next week i'll be going back to buy another for a little more volume. The nurse has finally called me to check my blood pressure and to ask a few questions... not long now! Think I'll be buying my macom bra this weekend too.... eeek!!
Question: shouldn't i have a blood test done before the op to ensure everything is ok????

I didn't have a blood test before my op - I think they only do one if you have been in hospital in the past 3 months and could have been in contact with MRSA - I stress the "I think" as I am unsure on that.

Re: need to know basis...
HMG did a blood test on me, think it was standard, they said 'no news is good news', i'm guessing it was to check blood type in case of complications and perhaps they screen for lurgies. Do they have other details of your blood type? x

Re: need to know basis...
Nope, i don't even know what blood type i am, even though I've asked my gp to find out he/she says there's no need. I'll email my care coordinator and see what she says. spoke to the nurse yesterday and she said all she needed was to know my blood pressure... i hope they run tests before hand, my brother is slightly flu-ish and i now have a mouth ulcer that has caused my face to swell slightly. I don't want to reschedule my surgery but if i have to id rather find out before and not on my special day.

Ok, I spoke to my patient care coordinator (Im so lucky, she's lovely!), she has advised me that my blood works will be done on the day of my surgery, they'll do the whole shabang and then send me in if satisfied (woohoo!!)
