What did you tell the Children?
Just wondered how you broached the subject with your children? (if you have any) My girls are 4 & 6 and I just know one of them is going to go into school after the op and tell all their friends 'my mummy has had an operation and has bigger boobies now!'
I'm trying to keep my forthcoming BA a secret, so really dont want people finding out second hand!

Re: What did you tell the Children?
Hi Oracle my son is 6 and my wee girl is 4 so same ages as yours. I told them that mummy was having an operation on her boobs but it was nothing to worry about. They didnt really ask why, theyve made comments about them being bigger but only to family thankfully they havnt said anything to others, well that I know about!
Good Luck hope it all goes well for you x

I agree with the private parts. I sometimes get a bath with my lil boy and he stares at my boobs and points to my nipple so I tell him 'mummys private bits' he just laughs so as he gets older he will know them as private parts.xx

Re: What did you tell the Children?
Its a bit rambly this so I apoligise first ......
sort of agree with Trisha there - I havent told my kids - little two cos I could get away with it easy enough - there were a couple of long looks at the start but not worried faces, and they get in the bath with me all the time (I get no peace ! hahah) and still no questions asked. I think they just happy to accept the change with no real worries cos I havent made a big deal of it. I havent gone over big either so maybe it could depend on the size increase you are having.
The only comment my 9 year old girl made one day was to say that the dress I was trying on at the time made my boobies look big! I think my five year old girly appreciates the more cuddly cuddles but just accepts mum as mum - and thats nice - how I want it to be.
I havent told my two teens cos I think its private too - some things just are if you want them to be - it doesnt have to mean you are telling lies.
I had planned on explaining briefly if they had asked but also planned on saying that its a fairly private thing and that Id rather not talk about it. Not shutting them out but saying that some things should be kept private - as Trisha said.
I would have said to my 16 year old lad (if pressed) there are things he does that he would rather I didnt ask about (am sure you know what I mean ) and so its the same for mum.
My eldest daughter, who is 14 would have been a different story cos I would have explained very differently to her - I dont want her to have body issues like I have - i hope she wont be very small up top like me, cos she will hopefully inherit my MIL's bosom rather than my mums! but I also didnt want to worry her and have her wonder if she would need to have big boobs to be happy cos I definately dont think thats the case.
As it is they havent asked. I do think my son is of the idea "Gawd Id rather not ask!" and has noticed, but is being sensitive (he is quite) and polite.
My eldest girl hasnt directly asked me but has made a few nice little comments.
I think they are both quite kind, sensitive and caring kids and are allowing me to have the privacy without having to explain.

Re: What did you tell the Children?
I don't have kids, but do have a 7 year old niece. Everyone in my family knew about the twins, but her. At Christmas, I noticed that she kept looking at them. I asked her what she kept looking at, and her response was "Why doesn't my Mommy have those" everyone there was on the ground laughing.

Re: What did you tell the Children?
Thanks for your replies.
I wont want to give them the full run down of what I've had done! and I totally agree with the 'Private Parts'
I was more interested in what your responses were if they asked 'why are your boobs bigger, what are those bandages?' etc
To be honest, if I'm in a sports bra 24-7, I probably wont look any different than I do when I'm wearing my padded bras, so they probably wont notice until weeks after.

Re: What did you tell the Children?
I'd probably just not tell them since they may worry, or ask you 1,000 questions about boobs and why you want bigger ones...

Re: What did you tell the Children?
I'm not sure what I will tell my 4 year old. My eldest daughter (20 years old) knows what I'm having done. She is taking time off work to help me with my little one. My son is 17 and lives with me, I will tell him what I'm having done as I will probably need his help too

Re: What did you tell the Children?
I didn't tell my kids either. Mine are 2, 5 and 7 years old. At the time i told them mummy was going away overnight with work! I did however tell them when I got back that I had had a little operation on my chest and hadn't told them before because I didn't want to worry them. I told them it was nothing serious but that they just had to be gentle with me for a few days.
I don't think I could have totally ignored it as they would have questioned why I wasn't able to do a lot around the house and why I had lots of help!!
