Your last meal and your first!
What was your last meal before your op?
I've been eating really healthily to try and put myself in the best state for surgery but I'm considering eating my body weight in chinese food the night before because I won't be able to eat for ages the next day!
Also, what was your first meal after your op? I'm hoping the hospital has a decent menu :-)

Ummm, I don't honestly remember what m last meal was. I was lucky and had to stop eating at midnight, and was in surgery by 9am, so I just ate normally the day before, and didn't really notice the not-eating because I was under GA before I had a chance to notice!
I know my first meal after was a delicious cup of tea, a cheese sandwich, and some jelly and ice cream  love it, cos I was well hungry by then!
xx

Hi angellauren, first of all i wish you good luck for tomorrow!!! You must be sooo excited by now, how are you passing your last few moments at home? With regard to food, I have been advised to avoid garlic because it makes the blood thinner. Enjoy the experience xxx

Wow, I'm really not remembering either...I think my first meal was my BF made me chicken soup and maybe some saltines? I know I was starving....
Last....wow, I think it may have been curry shrimp...then I panicked because I wasn't supposed to have cayenne pepper and there was TONS in the curry but I survived the GA anyway good luck chica!!

Re: Your last meal and your first!
My last meal was fish and chips with sweetcorn and I had a protein shake at midnight as that was the last point I was allowed food.
My first meal or rather snack was a not great tuna sandwich with oat biscuits and some of my OH's crisps and Ginsters spicy chicken slice when he went looking for food for himself (they wouldn't feed him).
First proper meal after was bolognese with pasta and cheese - I made the bolognese the night before I went to hospital so my OH just had to reheat it which was a godsend as we got home soooooo late in the evening.

alexandra - im doing great thanks
DF pomised me when he left that he would bring me my VERY FAVOURITIST (ok i know its not a real word ) and naughtiest treat for mid morning snack ... theres a cafe in a town near us that does the absolute BEST fruit sone with jam and cream ... dunno why its better than anywhere else ... suspect they have the same added drugs that cadbury buttons, dairylea, lurpack and chunky kit kats have in them so that will be my after this time. Mmmmmm.
