6 wk post op check up?
I have my 6 week post op check up on Tuesday. I was Just wondering if that normally means your PS will say i can stop wearing the sports bra? I know all PS say different but i was just wondering what the general feedback is. Also do you think i will be able to wear underwired bra's?

Re: 6 wk post op check up?
I'm having my ba with HMG, my friend had them there too and she had to wear a sports bra for 12 weeks, when i went for my first consultation i asked them if this was right and they said yes. bit gutted as that means all summer in a sports bra!
unless depends on the surgeon? If this is true, my first day of wearing a proper bra again with new boobs will be my birthday! x

I went with HMG oh no i don't think i can last another 6 weeks. Im already going to be naughty tomorrow and wear a normal bra because a sports bra will show to much with what i want to wear!!!!!

Re: 6 wk post op check up?
i was thinking, depending on how i'm recovering, that i'd wear a normal bra every now and then after 6 weeks. it obviously can't do any harm if other clinic's say 6 weeks can it?
Len1 which HMG clinic were you at? I'm with the manchester one. Are you glad you went with them? xx

Not going to like this one Len!!!
I was advised sports bra (and obeyed) 3months day 6 weeks night. I was advied this pre-op and no change at six weeks.
No idea if it perhaps was due to anatomicals? Also informed that the underwires can disrupt scar tissue/incisions untill fully healed which can take some months to completly heal....was told occassional underwire would be o.k. if felt comfy. I feel much more comfortable in 'wireless' bras and if I do wear one I wear Triupmph comfortwire flexable and soft or a wonderbra. But as we know it is soo confusing. Good Luck xxx

Hi Len I went with HMG but dif surgeon. I was told 3 weeks day n night then just during day if i wanted to until 6 weeks. I carried on wearing it pretty much day n night 4 6 weeks as didnt really need to wear a normal one. I still wear my sports bra sometimes now at night and during the day. It totally depends on the surgeon and how your boobs are healing not what the clinic say!!!

Re: 6 wk post op check up?
Hi Len, I'm with Dr Ondrejka - i think i've spelt that right? I rang them today as i was worried about what i'd read with regards to PIP implants, but the woman at HMG said not to take much notice of what you read online? I suppose they can't be as bad as i've read otherwise a reputable company like HMG wouldn't use them...would they?? xx

Re: 6 wk post op check up?
Hiya hun, all surgeons and companies have different rules and different advice for you to follow and i think its always best to follow what your ps says. I know when you have been wearing that dreadful sports bra for sooooo long all you wannd do is wear some pretty bra's. I personally dont think it makes much difference, obviously in the very early stages i think it is important to religiously wear your sports bra to help "set" your boobs where they should be (in the pockets) but i am a classic example for you, due to much controversy, i was advised by my ps to wear a wonderbra after 3 weeks (so yes that means padding, plunging and underwire) and you know what, I am soooo glad I followed what he said. It has made the shape and sitting of my boobs so much better than before and it hasnt made any difference to my scars at all. (in fact the pressure from the underwire has flattened them.) I am now able to get a fab cleavage where as before i couldnt as they were quite far apart. I still have to wear my sports bra for the next 3 months in bed tho.
Everyone is different hun and i would go with what your ps says, better to be safe, but then on the other hand i done the exact opposite to nearly everyone on here and i am over the moon with my results, good luck hunni!,xxxxx
