Re: Excerise...too soon?
Obviously I'm not at that stage yet!! But loving the new avi!!! I was told 6weeks- maybe just go along, and if your feeling the strain then calm it a bit, or sit out?
I'm itching to get started with a new year weight loss exercise plan- just have to stick to strict diet and walking for next few weeks!!! x

Re: Excerise...too soon?
I know i start my healthy eating plan next week as its my birthday this week so going to indulge for one last time. Ive hated not being able to do any excercise, itching to go out and run.

Re: Excerise...too soon?
sorry, will answer your Q now
i think its a lot to do with try it and see - pretty much what my PS said to me anyway ... take it gently at the start
Im running very gently STILL, its making me mental (ask my DF and he will confirm this for you - poor bl**der!) and whilst i have started some upper body stuff I really strained myself the other day hoovering up after the new years party (house was a chuffin wreck tho so needed some SERIOUS hoovering ) so I think I still need to be careful .... but dont forget Im older than you sweetie so you'll probably find it much easier!
ive found the cross trainer easier cos its less impact than the footfalls of running
never done zumba but seen it - would imagine all that jiggling be murder on the boobies hon
x

Re: Excerise...too soon?
Hi, I had my post-op check a few weeks back, when I was five weeks post op. My doc said I could start running but to make sure I had maximum support as to not let the implants move. He also said I could build up to upper body exercise between 6-8 weeks. I was also told at that point that I could wear normal bras and no need to wear one at night anymore .
I am now 7 and 1/2 weeks post op and things are pretty much normal for me now, although I still am a little protective of them.
Happy birthday for tomorrow!

Fab avatar hun!!!
I'm 2 weeks post op and its driving me crazy not being able to exercise, I don't know how I'm going to manage another 4 weeks. I feel ready to start exercising again but I daren't as I don't want to cause any damage. Has anyone exercised before 6 weeks?? How did you get on??
PS Happy Birthday xx

Re: Excerise...too soon?
Baileys - yep, me - some good days and some bad (suffering after excerise wise) - I know when I overdid/overdo it so Im more careful now but I was so grateful to get back to my running, the first 10k after my ba (albeit a gentle one) wasnt too bad surprisingly.
Am getting more involved in the upper body stuff again now. Made a stupid mistake the other day overdoing hours of hard hoovering after our new years party and I suffered pretty bad for that - but like a knob I didnt think about wearing support to do it - duh me

Re: Excerise...too soon?
Thanks for the reply Kay, I knew I wouldn't be able to exercise for 6 weeks but I didn't anticipate having such bad withdrawal symptoms!
I always do things before I think and suffer the consequences but after reading your story will try and put my brain into gear first!

Re: Excerise...too soon?
I've been going on the cross trainer and bike, and done a spin class last week.
I started about week 4, as soon as I felt a bit of discomfort I stopped :)
Looking great in you Avi Vicki!! xxx
