Losing weight????
Hey everyone!!!!
I'm looking to get my BA in January through transform Edinburgh, I'm looking to get a cancelation at short notice as i'm flexable as to when in Jan it's done!
I'm currently 5,4" and wieght fluctuates between 8stone 10 and 9 stone 4, and a size 8 hoping to get down to 8,7 before the op to get rid of and wobbles but struggling!
Does anyone know if i'll have problems if I only manage to get to my prefered weight after the op and whether it'll affect my new boobs? I just dont want to go through all that and spoil it by wieght changes!!!
Thanks in advance!

Re: Losing weight????
It shouldnt be a huge issue but if its quite a bit of weight that you lose you could get rippling. I would chat to your ps about it x x

Re: Losing weight????
Hiya. If its not a massive amount of weight you lose you should be ok but as welshvicci says Id mention to your ps.
Oddly enough I have lost weight since the ba (even though Ive had to seriously cut down on exercise) - especially in the first weeks my appetite was crap cos I was sicky after the GA, since then Ive been struggling with the pain killers making me huey as well which has meant Ive lost weight .... the boob-job diet - thats one I havent tried before hahah
you may find you lose these extra couple of pounds you wanting to shift by doing nothing much at all - yey xx

Re: Losing weight????
If only haha! Not much will put me off my food but may be a bonus. Not much fat to lose so should be fine!
Also would anyone worry about getting a cancelation? I'm quite trusting and assume everyone in the profession should make a good job? Am I being naive?

Re: Losing weight????
Mine was a cancellation sweet - and I was very grateful to not have to wait. The reason there was a cancellation was that the lady who booked had another family member poorly - whilst I felt bad for her I was soooooo glad to get in earlier than I thought. Maybe to put your mind at ease ask why the cancellation came up? - not sure they'd tell you the truth but you never know. xx

Thats good, just not seen any mention on here. Think i'll just research the surgeon as soon as the cancellation comes up before I confirm :-)

Re: Losing weight????
Hiya,
I too am on a weight loss mission. I am 5ft3 and was 11st2. I am now down to 9st8.5 but would like to be 9st for my op. I was advised to get as close to my idea weight as possible before the op but not to worry about a couple of lbs here and there, it would be fine as long as I wasn't planning to lose another stone (which I'm not) for example.
Trouble is with Christmas coming my no alcohol low fat/sugar eating habits are hard to maintain!
8.5lbs to go and 6 weeks to do it!

Re: Losing weight????
I'd say as long as it's only a little bit of weight, it won't be a worry. If you were looking to lose large amounts of weight, then you should post-pone until you'r closer to your goal... but as you're really only talking a few pounds, you shouldn't worry.

Re: Losing weight????
If you want to try and shed a few pounds quicky I would highly recommend a high protein low carb diet (such as the Dukan)..difficult I know at the time of year but it will also help with healing afterwards..protein is what our bodies need to repair muscles etc.... good luck!

Re: Losing weight????
I have been advised by several people in the gym to not use a high protein low carb diet - high protein that isn't balanced puts huge strain on the kidneys.
I was advised that for a quick blast you can do no carbs but should not do it for more than a week or 2 at most as it can be damaging.
Better to adjust to a healthy balanced diet and cut out high sugar content (high = more than 12g sugar per 100g of product)

Re: Losing weight????
Thanks Aurora - that's a good point.... I dont strictly follow a 'no carb' diet but what I do is eat a lot less potatoes, bread, rice, pasta etc than I used to balanced with lots of fruit and veg...

Re: Losing weight????
We have moved to brown pasta, brown rice and rye bread as well.
It is tough being disciplined but it has helped me so much with the 21.5lbs lost so far (coupled with exercise)

Re: Losing weight????
have to bare in mind that low carb high protien can be very difficult to maintain and last thing you want is to put it all on when the new boobies arrive. Personally thats what I do and it works for me!
