worried about my PIP implants...
I have pip implants...I haven't had any problems with mine so far but after reading all the stuff thats gone on (and I hadn't heard about until recently!) im very worried.
I was with harley medical, but I'm not going back to them as they were the ones who originally gave me the pip implants and I now don't trust them at all - even if I could get it for free I'd rather not have them! I've booked an ultrasound for next tuesday and I'm also seeing a surgeon at the BMI Meridian hospital. There is a small amount of rippling but when I spoke to the surgeon he said it was due to not having enough breast tissue to cover it, as I've lost a bit of weight recently...I then asked him if he thought there was rupture and he said to have a scan to check as they are pip implants.
He said he can replace them...so I guess I'll see what happens. I don't know whether to just replace them now even if they are ok after the scan, or just go back for another scan in 6 months if the ultrasound comes back and there is no rupture...does anyone know of anyone in the same situation - where they have pip implants but no problems?... - I've only had them in for 3! :(:( xx

Re: worried about my PIP implants...
Aw hun, I can totally understand your worries, I did not have pips and can't really give you any expert advice, all I can do is give you my opinion, which would be to get the PIP implants out as soon as you possibly can, as you really dont want them to rupture. I think it's awful that companies used these knowing full well they were a bad product (they just didn't know quite how bad). I have my fingers crossed for you that there is no rupture, if there is not you still have time to wait a little and get them replaced, you dont have to have it done next week or anything. But just get them done when you can.
Re: worried about my PIP implants...
Hey thanks for replying :) x!! Yeh, I just think it's disgusting how harley medical and other companies have treated those with PIP implants! I'm really hoping everythings ok, the surgeon I'm seeing does reconstruction surgery as well and sometimes works for the NHS - which is good as I'm worried about scarring if I have to have them replaced. I definitely want the best implants this time, I can't afford this to happen so soon again - I can just about get the money together...hopefully.

Re: worried about my PIP implants...
Sorry to hear about the PIPs, im sure you will get all the support and help you need, I do think its dreadul that a huge company like Harley Medical would use these knwoing the risks. In my opinion anyone who had pips should have them replaced for free, but we know thats not always the case. Let us know how you get on x x

Re: worried about my PIP implants...
hey thanks :) x! Yeh I think it's awful, really makes me feel sick to think about it! I'm having my ultrasound tomorrow and the surgeon will probably be able to replace them for me at the end of january/february hopefully!
I heard that Nagor is offering those with PIP implants free replacement implants? Does anyone know if this is true??
